Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick

I have been wearing this lipstick in various shades for years. I'm sure I've reviewed it before but it bears repeating because if Revlon ever discontinues this line, I'm going to be SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED! The colors are amazing but the staying power is what really matters! Other long-wear lipsticks can be dry or flaky but that is NOT what this one is. It goes on smoothly and once it sets, it stays all day until I take it off at night with makeup remover or chapstick. My daughter was born unexpectedly early in 2009. I had to be intubated for a c-section. Hours later, back in my room, when the doctors came in to check on me, one of the female doctors commented "wow! you look great...lipstick on and everything!" I said no, that I hadn't touched up anything and she demanded to know what kind of lipstick I was wearing that lasted through surgery and childbirth! If that's not long-lasting, I don't know what is!! Thanks, Revlon! Don't change a single thing!!

I love this color and the fact that it stays on all day. I use it as a base lipstick and use lipgloss over it throughout the day and it stays on as an under coat and color.

Good find. Color as expected. Smooth application. Does not dry out my lips. Staying power about 3-4 hours.

I bought one a while back on clearance in a store and it wasn't what I was expecting so I nearly threw it out. I had gotten into liquid lipstick because of the staying power and I prefer a matte look. Unfortunately most end up drying out your lips, making them look very wrinkled, wearing off oddly, oxidizing and darkening when you put them on. Thankfully I still had my Revlon lipstick. It does go on sheer. That means you can control how intense or natural it looks. It can look like a flush of color and very subtle or you can layer it on. Your lips look a little shiny at first but it eventually dries matte and stays on a while. I threw out my liquid lipsticks and I'm now collecting these. The picture is of Finale. The original one I bought is Couture. They are very similar. I would say Finale is a touch more red and Couture is a touch more pink. I also tried Iconic and it is almost my natural lip color. Unfortunately it has a shimmer to it. If it was matte I would wear it alone but with the shimmer I can't get the 1980's out of my head so I will wear it under my dry formula matte lipstick to sheer out their color.

I've tried several long lasting lipsticks over the past few weeks. All were liquids. I could not find the right color for one thing. The other is they looked painted on, not natural. Been wearing Revlon Super Lustrous Blushing Mauve. This is very close in color but just a slight more pink than my natural lip color, but usable. So I ordered the Iconic color and that color comes close to matching my lips. I reordered Socialite and Wardrobe. Wardrobe is a bit more purplish than the picture. It is a strong color like maybe a burnt red. Socialite on the other hand is almost an exact match to my lip color. Perfect for me, no more looking. May try a few more colors if they go on sale for special occasions. But for everyday use Socialite is for me, basically not noticable yet gives me even color over my whole lips and keeps my lips from the occasional peeling. I took a drink after 10 minutes and had very little transfer and after 15 minutes had no transfer. After about 40 minutes I ate a Pork Chop off the bone and did seem to lose a bit but color was still there, just worn down a bit. I put it on at around 11 am and it was still there at 9 pm. I have also used Preview on my upper lip and Iconic on the bottom lip then rubbed them together and end up with a color in between the two. These people saying that it doesn't last must be constantly licking their lips or putting a lip balm on top of it.

Stays on for a long time. I love it!

I've been using this same product for years, in two specific colors, and my last purchase was disappointing. It went on and dry and cakey. I used to be able to put it on and it would last for hours, even when drinking or using a straw. Not with this last one. I've tried the new versions of the Colorstay and they aren't the same. It would be great if Revlon had a comparison chart so you could find the right shades in the newer products because I have a feeling the traditional lipsticks are on their way out.

Tolle Lippenfarbe, hält lange, sehr ergiebig. Leider ist geht der Verschluß schnell ab und das Plastik rund um den Lippenstift hält wesentlich weniger lang als der Lippenstift. Der Stift geht oft von selbst auf in der Tasche.

I've had quite a lot of (positive) experience with Revlon now, and this is a very good product for the price especially. I was looking for a lipstick that looks the same on the lips as it does on the stick itself. It's very much the same colour, so I'm satisfied. It does transfer a tiny bit for the first ten minutes of wearing it, but this can be prevented by making sure you gently remove excess product with a bit of kitchen roll. "ColorStay" matches this lipstick very well. I've been eating and drinking with this, and it stays put. The colour still looks amazing, and my lips feel "naked" - no sticking when pressing the lips together, no drying of the lips, both of which makes the product good for any occasion. I'm very, very impressed. One should notice that it IS a matte lipstick, so if you're looking for a little shine without applying another product, this isn't for you. - TL;DR - PROS: - Same colour on lips as product shows. - Doesn't dry/flake. - Colour stays after eating/drinking. - Light and pleasant taste/smell. - Doesn't transfer after a while. CONS: - Transfers once after drying.

great staying power. i found this color a little light for my skin tone, so i normally use it along with a darker shade and i get a perfect blend..

the Lipstick has cuts on top. its like someone opened the cover and touched/damaged the upper part of the lipstick. Poor quality
