Stansport Sandpiper Sand Chair

This chair has the advantage of having two crossbars at the bottom, front and back, which make it less likely to sink into sand or soft ground. It's light weight and well made, BUT the problem, that I discovered immediately when I sat down in it, is that cross bar at the top pressed against my back and neck. There was no comfortable position. By resting against the fabric backrest, you spine presses on that top cross bar. It wasn't just a mild annoyance... it was painful, continuously painful. Didn't anyone at the manufacturer sit in the prototype before finalizing the design?This chair would be OK if the manufacturer would shape that top crossbar back in a curve so that would not press against the person in the chair. It's a simple fix if they'd just do it.

These were perfect for us. My husband and I had no issues fitting in these chairs - I'm 5'6" and 135lbs, he's 5'9" and 180lbs. They didn't break, are very lightweight to carry, and worked great to sit on the beach in and watch our kids play. I'm surprised there were so may not great reviews. They are about the cheapest I could find these types of chairs. They also fold up very thin, so stuffing them in our suv was very easy. They also have a strap to carry them on your shoulder (though it's not the most comfortable-kind of scratches your shoulder a little. We just stuffed a towel underneath to remedy that). Maybe if you use them on a regular basis they wear more quickly, but we used ours daily for a week while on vacation and had no issues. As a side note, these are beach chairs - they are supposed to sit low! If you have difficulty getting up from sitting on the ground, don't buy it. It's meant to sit at this level!

I'm giving this 3 stars because nowhere in the product description does it say it is a child's chair. I read the reviews prior to purchase, and many mentioned this chair seems better suited for a child, so I bought two with the intention of our 7 and 10-year olds using them at the beach. The price was low, and I'd give this five-stars for everything from a child's chair perspective. The chairs are small, compact, easy to carry with the strap, and work excellent for our kids. Can my husband and I sit in them? Yes, but it's not ideal. The chair description does say the weight limit is 200, of which I am under, but even so I wouldn't recommend this for a tall adult within 20 lbs. of the weight limit. Maybe for a petite adult these would be okay. But for our 7 and 10 year olds, they chairs are roomy and comfortable. A great buy for the kids! :-)

We've had these chairs for less than a month and they've probably been used a total of 5 times. I was sitting in one on Sunday down by the lake when the canvas gave way. It completely tore from front to back, made me feel really good about myself in the moment, and my butt was on the sand. I'm not that big of a person. You can't be with this chair as the metal pieces on the side would prevent you from being able to fit. Obviously a giant tear in the seat renders it completely useless. My husband threw it away before I got a picture. We were looking for some basic beach chairs that weren't too heavy, didn't have all of the added bells and whistles, and didn't cost too much. Unfortunately this chair didn't meet the basic requirements of a seat in that it holds you up off the ground. I can't recommend this product at all.

This chair is extremely small and incredibly uncomfortable! The bar that goes across the back digs into your spine. And it's tiny! It looks like it was made for a toddler to sit in. I'm only 115 pounds and found it too small for me. Plus it sits you straight up and it's very low to the ground. You might as well just sit directly on the sand and forego the chair altogether. Would not recommend, not even for a child since the bar across the back hurts.

I wanted something low to the ground for sitting next to my kids sand box & kiddie pool outside. Bought these last summer and they did fine. They were mostly used by myself (150 lbs) and my kids (about 40 lbs). They were stored on our covered patio all winter. Got them out for spring and my kids have been sitting in them. I hadn’t even used them yet and both fabric seats have ripped within a week.Good only if you’re using these as a temporary seasonal item. They will not last you more than a couple months of use. I had an awesome low beach chair I bought at Walmart one year for about $20 and it took a few years of abuse before the fabric seat gave out, so these Stansport brand ones were not up to par for me.I

Okay, this isn't a standard sized chair. It's a sand chair. That is the reason I purchased it. I wanted something smaller and compact that can be easily carried. I live in New York City and use this chair on my fire escape to read on really nice days. It serves that purpose perfectly! I should also mention that I am 5'2" and 115lbs so if you're on the larger side or have bad knees, it will probably be uncomfortable.

I'm 5'2, hubby is 5'10. He was happy to have something to sit on at the beach. Worked great. Small, but not too small :) Low to the ground. Inconspicuous and low-key chair. Not a big production; that's what I like! Good quality frame. Carrying strap is awesome when you have a lot of other things to lug out to the sand. Would recommend for minimalists.

Exactly as advertised. It’s a small, low chair. Not meant for bigger people. I bought it to throw in my car so i could read (sitting up) at the beach. It’s perfect for that.

Perfecto para sentarte cómodamente y solo un poco incómodo si quieres “recostarte” un poco más de la cuenta.El único inconveniente es que se rompió la tela del asiento después de un par de campamentos. Bought 2 of these for on the beach in Maine. They're light weight and easy to carry to the beach. Sits comfortable if you dig a hole for under your butt. Otherwise you'll rest your behind on the sand.

I am happy with these chairs (I bought 2). Easy to use and carry. The only issue is the mesh on the back of one of the chairs has already torn (and we've only used it twice at the beach and only stored sunglasses and an iPhone in the mesh at the back.

Chaise moyennement confortable mais idéal pour voyager. Entre très bien dans une valise de 28" x 18". Légère et compacte. Sa courroie pour transporter est très utile. Parfait pour la plage. Je recommande.
