Clerks

Clerks is one of my favorite movies. With how young I was when I first watched it, it was hard to understand how important this movie was and still is. Over the years, I noticed more and more things about the movie compared to the library of other movies. I’ve seen throughout my life and the impact it has had since its release.While the movie itself is fantastic in its own right, the story of the movie being written and produced is the best part about its existence. Kevin Smith’s story is one of the most interesting and compelling of any human that has ever walked this earth, in my humble opinion. How an early 20s convenience store clerk from New Jersey scraped together $37,000 between selling his comic book collection and credit cards to make a crude little black and white flick with his friends about running a convenience store is nothing less than incredible and amazingly inspirational. This movie ended up being one of the most profitable in the history of film in terms of return on investment. This movie and the history behind it makes you feel like you can accomplish whatever you want. "If he did it, why not me?"From the dialog to the cast to the dozens seeds of in-jokes being planted to the sheer Innocence of the flick, there's so much to love about this film. Not the least of which is the universe of characters and interweaving stories from future Kevin Smith works. Flicks like Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and two more Clerks sequels and others in various media forms. In nearly every movie he's done after Clerks, there's SOMETHING connecting back to that first movie. Little jokes, references, additional info about plot points, and of course, Jay & Silent Bob: The very fabric that holds the View Askewniverse together. These two pop up in every VA movie save for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Drawing Flies, Jersey Girl, and Vulgar. Possibly the most unlikely film duo to become pop culture mainstays. All of it began with Clerks.The importance of this film is very difficult to understate. I mean, it's been entered in to the Library of Congress. You don't need to win an Oscar or an Emmy to have made an important work of art and being in the LOC demonstrates importance as well as anything.If you've not seen this movie, please watch it. It's unusual and may not seem interesting by just reading a synopisis on the internet- but 5 or so minutes in, you'll be stuck on it and fascinated as to how this cheaply made black and white movie about a day in the life of two convenience store employees can steal so much of your interest and attention. It's the "first step into a larger world", so when you're done with Clerks, move on to the rest of the View Askew movies. What makes Clerks so great can be found in no short supply in Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (yes; they got their own movie), Jersey Girl, Clerks II, Zack and Miri Make A Porno, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (yes; they got their own reboot!), and Clerks III.Side note: actors like Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, Joey Lauren Adams, Ethan Suplee, all of them took their first steps to becoming the icons they are now in Kevin Smith's movies and legends like Alan Rickman, George Carlin, Chris Rock, Mark Hamill, Alanis Morrisette, and Val Kilmer amongst others have all lent their talents in his movies as well.

This 2- movie package has no frills, but if you just care about having the movies, it's perfect. I bought it for Clerks 2, and really didn't care about the inclusion of Zack & Miri, but the price couldn't be beat.

Was not secure in the case thankfully it was not scratched tho so phew

Movies are great. Was super excited to get this double feature on sale. Received it in the mail and the Zack and Miri Blu-ray missing! Of course Amazon returns at no cost but now they are out of this double version!! So annoying. This is the 5th Blu-ray or 4k quality control or manufacturer mishap I have had to deal with from Amazon and Best Buy in the past month. I make sure to double check all discs right away now. Especially if they are these lower budget multi packs. Have had some with no sound, audio not close to synced up with film on another, no discs, damaged discs and one that only played half the movie!! Seriously Blu-ray and 4k maker/studios get your act together.

Discs auf gut Glück bestellt, da Clerks II sonst nicht auf BD zubekommen ist. Läuft wunderbar auf meinem panasonic 4K Player. Keine dt. Tonspur vorhanden. Filme sind beide klasse. Leider ist die Hülle etwas kaputt, obwohl die eingeschweißt war.
