New to Moroccan sardines and I love them
Recently I've been exploring the world of tinned fish, namely, sardines. There is a huge variety in terms of species, packing, textures, seasoning, and flavors. I've gone through the cheapest of the grocery store brands (under a $1 a can), and I'm inching my way up. I've been curious about Moroccan sardines because many of the more expensive brands are from Morocco, and they used larger fish than the cheap brands. The Moroccan seem to be similar to sardines from Spain and Portugal but cost much less. I'll try the expensive Spanish and Portuguese sardines someday, but I'm not going to pay $4 for a small tin of fish when I can pay less than $2 per can for essentially the same thing. The Crown Prince are packed nicely, all the positive comments are correct in my opinion. They are firm, taste good and packed three to a can. The light smoke is pleasant and not overbearing. I didn't notice any problem with excessive amounts of scales, and they aren't overly fishy. Overall, I'm impressed. I do prefer the taste of ones packed in oil or packed in water over sauced sardines (tomato, hot sauce, mustard, etc.). I prefer to add my own condiments. They came with a nice long shelf-life date of 2027, and I'm happy with my purchase. I will buy these again.Update: I've finished half the case and I want to state that I love these. They are terrific and the best value out there in sardines.

Good Buy
I love canned fish, especially sardines, so I'm always on the lookout for a good deal to support my habit. When I saw these for just over $1.00 a can delivered (with Prime), I was a little skeptical. In my experience, most sardines in that price range are pretty blah. However, Crown Prince is a fairly reputable brand, so I took a chance. I was most pleasantly surprised. The cans are completely packed with fish, the sardines are firm and flavorful, and the oil (even though soybean, not olive) was very good. I found they tasted as good as any other single-layer sardine out there, an could only wish for olive oil to make them perfect. But for a dollar a can, no complaints from me! I'm sure I will be buying them again.UPDATEAfter several cases of these, I have to downgrade the rating somewhat. The first few cases always had 5-6 sardines per can. The last case had only two very large hunks per can. The taste was still good, and the price is very reasonable, so they still warrant 4 stars in my opinion. However, I'm not really a fan of huge sardines, so I'll probably look elsewhere for the next batch.

Tasty
Good flavor, more of a creamy mustard sauce... and not really fishy smelling which was nice, but strange. Haha

Too much thick soybean oil.
Three large sardines in each can. The soybean oil they are packed in is heavy. Masks the taste of the sardines. Even my dog is reluctant to eat them. Recommend Chicken of the Sea sardines instead.

NOT the Brisling Sardines
I've been buying the Crown Price Brisling Sardines in mustard all of my life. I thought I'd try these because they were cheaper. What ever these are packed in, it's not mustard. It's kind of an oily, gray/beige stuff. You get 3 big Sardines per can and they are big enough to have spines (which I don't mind). The Sardines are fine but the "mustard" is terrible. So, now I open a can of these and a green can of the Brisling Sardines in mustard from Scotland. I discard the bad "mustard" stuff and mix the 3 Sardines in with the Brisling Sardines. I'll never buy these again!
