Rubbermaid 1819956 2-in-1 Indoor 13.2G Recycling Bin, Black, With Liner Lock, 2-in-1 Recycler

I bough two of these to use as recycle and trash bins in my RV. I have the Hidden Recycler model, not the model with 2 compartments. I'm in my RV full-time so I needed something that would hold a decent amount of trash but wouldn't be an obstacle in this small space. These are perfect!1. The fabric bins make them easy to work around. They take up less space than a solid/plastic bin with the same dimensions. I can still access a power outlet that is behind one of them and the other that is at the edge of the stairway/door is easy to walk by since the fabric gives way even if you do happen to brush by it.2. The plastic lid gives them stability. The lid gives them enough form so that they stay open to place trash in them and trash bags stay put. It also keeps the trash smell to a minimum.3. The look great! The grey lid and green bag look clean and nice. Not the eyesore you have with most trash cans. That is really important to me since I want my home to feel nice but can't spare any of my limited cupboard space to hide a trash can.Downside for me: I haven't found a trash bag that fits perfectly. Normal sized trash bags fit fine but seem like a waste for this smaller bin. I bought some 5 gallon bags from Amazon but their opening isn't wide enough to fit. You can see a binder clip in the picture that is holding that bag in place. I'm guessing maybe a 7 gallon bag would be better if there is such a thing. Plastic grocery bags work okay but aren't quite deep enough and aren't easy to fit around the opening well enough to keep them in place. Also, when I take the bag out, I have to hold the bottom of the fabric bin so that it doesn't come along with the trash bag. Not a big deal. I didn't detract any stars for this as it is outside the intended use. If I were using these without trash bags, the fact that the fabric bin part of the unit lifts easily away from the hook/lid section would be a huge plus!If I find bags that fit, I'll repost. For now, I'm crazy happy with this purchase! The bag thing is minor compared to the huge relief of finally finding a trash can that works in my RV!!!!

We moved into a new house with limited space and no under-cabinet space for a kitchen trashcan. I also wanted something with separate compartments to sort recycling so I didn't have to take each piece of recycling downstairs to the bin individually. I found a lot of VERY EXPENSIVE options, and then found this one.Pros:-Easy to piece together from the box-'Bag keeper' system works surprisingly well-Price is great-Angled lower section/foot pedal is very useful for hands-free kitchen disposal-Not fancy, but simple and clean looking-Closing lids are nice for kitchen trash/recyclingCons--Not nearly as fancy looking as other options (not a huge negative, especially considering the price difference)-No hands-free method for opening the top compartment (again, not a huge problem for me since I use this part for recycling)Overall I'm really happy with this trash can. It keeps everything contained and hidden, and isn't flashy or an unnecessary statement piece. Well designed and does what it needs to do.

This thing is great! I was previously using a cardboard box for my recycling until my boyfriend accidentally recycled the box! I have a small kitchen in an apartment, so I needed something small and out of the way. This is perfect! It was really easy to put together and hang inside my cabinet with the over the door hooks. It also came with mounting gear if you prefer that. It fits perfectly inside my cabinet. Yes, it's small, but what would you expect for something that is designed to hang inside a cabinet? It still fits a good deal of items if you crush/compact them down first. I empty it about once a week (just me in my house). It is really easy to take out too. The bag/handle assembly easily lifts off the rest of the fixture to take to your outside bin. There is even a handle on the bottom of the bag to easily dump it. Then it just slides back on to the lid/door assembly. I like that this is hidden and out of the way and the perfect size for my needs. The bag is of nice quality. It is lined inside so anything wet won't seep through. If you have a bigger family, it may be too small. Or just buy two.
