Great deep album cuts for die-hard Elton fans...
First of all, what's great is that this book is a transcription of Elton's actual piano lines, not generic sheet music. It contains deeper album cuts from his early albums such as "Amoreena" and "The Greatest Discovery." That fact alone is worth the price of the book. As one other reviewer noted, this is not a "greatest hits" collection for the casual fan. However, obsessive fans like me who don't have the chops to learn his parts by ear will love this. Very accurate and beautifully printed.

Elton John transcriptions
I didn't give this five stars because I thought the songs included weren't Elton John's favorites as advertised. The transcriptions are ok but I really didn't enjoy playing some of them as they were not what I would consider EJ's best songs. There is much better material of his to provide. Not sure why these songs were chosen

Great B-side piano transcriptions
If you're looking for his most famous songs, you'll want the Elton John Keyboard Book with the tan cover. This one has more B-side songs. The piano transcriptions are more accurate in this book, but unfortunately they do not include many other instrument lines like the Keyboard Book does, except for some occasional instrumental solos. It's a fantastic book though overall, and a must-have for anyone who wants to play like Elton John.

Too OverWritten-MIDI Sourced-Overly Complex
When they say “note for note,” they mean it. The music was printed after being fed into MIDI; and EVERY note played is notated. Horribly over written, complex and truly less than useful for any professional. Sorry I wasted money on it.

A very good collection of songs as Elton himself plays them
I bought this primarily to get a note-for-note transcription of Levon. While I haven't yet used the book extensively, it appears as though this is a great collection of songs transcribed the way that Elton originally played them when recorded. That is, his piano is accompaniment whereas he sings the melody. Those buying this book should be aware that the melody will have to be sung. Otherwise, these songs can be found in other collections where the piano plays the melody.

Fun book
Great book with some deeper album cuts than the other note for note elton book. If you're looking for more hits, buy that one. This one has some real gems that are fun to play like Indian sunset, amoreena, and postcards from Richard Nixon. Highly recommended!

Great Song Collection
This is a great collection of Elton John songs, with note for note transcriptions. I bought a different product in the past because it had Indian Sunset, but it wasn't a true transcription. This one has Indian Sunset, Madman Across the Water, and many other great songs, even some from the recent The Captain & the Kid. A must have for the true piano playing Elton John fan.

Seems really accurate
The notes seem to be dead on to what they are in the songs. Except Pinball Wizard, the first verse seems a little off, but I don't know.

Must Have for Elton John Enthusiasts
I LOVE this book! I had been looking for some Elton John transcriptions from his older works for ages. The only books I could find were sloppy work ups of his popular music (which in my opinion, is not nearly as wonderful as the pieces in this book) and they were never direct transcriptions. This book gives the arrangements as they were played on the studio recordings. Any big fan of Elton John's piano playing should purchase this book.
