5 LED Baseball Cap/Hat Clip-on Flashlight, White light

I bought two of these kind of on a whim. I was really surprised that they work so well. The plastic is probably not the best quality and will most likely snap if handled too roughly. They came with batteries in a separate plastic bag. I loaded the batteries in both sets of lights and turned them on and they both worked great!! I then got a baseball cap and attached one to the bill of the cap and it stayed on nicely. These are a good alternative to head lamps but I wouldn't solely rely on them for lighting during power outages. But, they are pretty good for as long as they last and emit nice, bright beams. I might get a couple more.

Getting this item for as cheap as I did was good, free shipping - priceless! Seriously, this item was real inexpensive so I wasn't expecting much and since I've had it for less then a month, that's how I look at these cheap/Chinese items. Now then, when I got this cap light the lightness shown out to about 10 or 12 feet and when you look at the lights they are real bright to look at. So after a month of regular use, to look at them not as bright and now they just lighten up where I'm walking and no more but the important thing is that they still work (knock on wood) and for that I'm grateful, that's why the 4 stars. And yes, for the money, I would buy them again !

I ordered two and only one worked. Also only has all on / blink mode and switch is in an odd place. I have one that I got at Ace and it had one, three, 5 lights on, flashing (which is obnoxious) then off and the button was on the bottom and easy to find. I'll get used to this but it is on the back side and harder to find the button. I uses these when I am grilling and they do work great for that.

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who is always complaining about not being able to walk the dogs at night because he can't hold a flash light as his hands are full of doberman. He wears baseball hats all the time so I thought this would be perfect. He refuses to use it because he thinks it looks silly. That and then he would have to find something else to complain about ;) I've used it a couple of times and I think it's quite handy. Stays on the hat well and is nice because the light shines where you look. Haven't used it enough to speak of battery life.

These are bigger and more powerful than I expected from the previous product image. But just fine, just the same.I'm using this light for fly fishing. In marginal light, it's nice to have a small hands-free auxiliary light to illuminate flies and gear, particularly for tying meticulous knots. A bill-mounted light like this is just the ticket. This particular light has brightness to spare. I'd give it 5 stars if it were waterproof. I see these guys make a range of these lights. For my use, I could do with just two or 3 of the LEDs, waterproofing... and probably much longer battery life.

Wow! I kinda hate to spread the good word about this item, fearing that it will become so popular that the manufacturer realizes the gem that they have produced and jack the price up past my means. I bought ten, attached them to my favorite ball caps and they are perfect!!! I have spent several nights working outside after dark and appreciate the fact that I do not have to run and find one of the expensive caps that have built in LEDs. Actually have used some up to five hours witout any disernable reduction in light output. I did add a piece of duct tape over the battery case to keep moisture/dirt out if it. Only drawback, it does reduce your upper field of view slightly. If that is a problem, simply attach it to top of cap. It will the staighten the bill out a bit, but is not a problem at night. I have yet to have any of the retaining clips to break off, but forsee that occuring as they age. I will then, as others have suggested, add a tab of silicone glue to it. Of course this item is not for general public use, looking a bit dorky, but who cares out in the REAL world of the woods.

I have not used these much. But the clips (actually the entire unit) is super Low grade plastic and they hold up very long. There are better options out there that actually deliver on their promise, so I recommend considering something else (see below).The switch is also a type of toggle that doesn't stand up to heavy use mounted in a hard to access location. Although I like the low profile of this type of light, I am not a big fan of the longevity or price of the CR2032 battery. Wish they could find a way to use a standard rechargeable aaa or maybe someone could develop a rechargeable in the flat battery form factor?? Battery type aside, I have to recommend an alternative to this particular unit which has much better useability and quality at an almost comparable price (available under $10). (See below) It's a shame really... Purchased 2 of these. I also have one with 3 LEDs from another source. There is no comparison. This one is poor quality construction, but does give good light. When I attempted to remove the lid to the batteries to remove the blocker the unit fell apart in my hand. The bar connecting the 2 batteries broke away from the lid and cannot be fixed. This seems to be a manufacturingdefect, however the units were in individual small boxes and shipped in a small bubble wrap envelope. Both boxes showed signsof being crushed, one more so than the other. The worst crushing was to the box containing the unit that broke.
