Sony BCQM1 Compact Battery Charger (Black)

I wouldn't have considered purchasing this item, until I bought a "refurb" camera which included this model of charger. What's great is that you can press the "quick-charge" button which disables the USB charger, and charge the largest NP-FV clone in about 1.5 hour. I run several sony cameras during a show, and bought another of these to charge batteries between shows. It's a bit pricey however. You have to balance your need for speed with the cost.It will charge several different Sony formats, but unfortunately not NP-F which I have so many from old camera and accesories, which are still good for many other applications, like LED lights and monitors.

First and foremost, there is nothing "compact" about this charger. I added a couple of images to the customer photo gallery for this product and if they go through, you can see how it compares in size and thickness to a Sony a6000 (spoiler alert: they're almost the same size).However, despite it being a brick in size, I am keeping it because it does a great job at charging the batteries quickly. It took over 3 hours to charge a W battery in my a6000 using the USB cable and charger that came with the camera. This charger cuts the charge time in half if you select the Quick Charge button!This charger also lets you patch the charging cable from your camera's Multi-port to a USB jack on this charger, so you can simultaneously charge one battery in your camera while charging a second battery on this charger (make sure Quick Charge is off). Charge times are not as quick though. In my tests, it took about 3 hours to charge both W batteries using this method. But don't let that deter you. Use your head when choosing a charging method. If you're going to charge both batteries overnight, then charging both simultaneously is the way to go. If you're in a crunch and need a battery quickly, then charge one battery standalone for an hour to an hour and a half.There are other devices out there that charge two batteries at once, but they are much larger and bulkier than this charger. If you're just using one camera with one additional battery, this charger is the way to go. If you're camera has a poor battery life and you need 3 or 4 spare batteries, then this charger probably isn't the biggest bang for your buck. If you're looking for a travel charger, then make some room in your kit bag for this big boy until a third party company comes up with a slimmer solution.

Bought this charger for one reason. It can charge two batteries at the same time. One in the charger and the other in the camera. That fact alone is worth the purchase. It's bigger than the average charger but it fits in the carrying case with my RX10 m4. Charges quick too and charges about 4 or 5 different Sony batteries. Great product in my opinion. If you own more than one type of Sony battery this is the charger you should get.

Love this charger for several reasons:-I have both an alpha camera and a camcorder, so this charger is all you need to fit any variation of Sony Batteries.-The 'quick charge' feature charges the batteries ~3x faster than a traditional Sony camera charger-The battery indicator shows the user how full the battery is charged (instead of just saying it's charging)

Up front - it works. I have two Sony a900s, a a99ii and a a6300. The batteries from all four cameras fit in this charger. Its very convenient when traveling to have to bring only one charger for four cameras. That's the upside.The downside is the charger is awkward to use. Its made to accommodate several battery types and because of this its like operating one of those old puzzles where you have to keep moving all the squares around until you can see the picture. Mine came with no instructions and its not obvious how all the different battery types actually fit.

Bought this for my Sony A7ii which, as users know, doesn't come with an external charger. It's a bit bulky but it works great. Invested in a couple of extra batteries and now I no longer have dead battery anxiety when I go out to shoot. I could and should be cheaper. (In fact, it should've been included in the price of the camera, Sony.)

To save money they combined several different battery sizes into one charger. It works well and was a bit confusing at first but I would highly recommend it. The manufacture to my camera discontinued the original so this had to substitute it. It does it's job. Would recommend.

Just leaving a note about the size. It's quite large! This thing is meant to work with many many sony batteries and as such needs to have circuitry inside to handle all that. It's about 4x larger than other compact chargers sony makes for the batteries for their a7 seriesAlso, these have been updated to include US charging prongs directly on the charger, no longer needing the cable pictured on this Amazon listing.

Carga muy rápida de baterías sony.Cuando cargaba la batería en la cámara a veces se detenía la carga, a pesar de ser lenta.Ahora es muy rápido y sin problemas.
