Helpful and practical resource for studying Colossians and Philippians.
I purchased this book because I was looking for a study aid as I was studying Philippians and Colossians. I had studied these books written by Paul before, but as most know, you can never study one book too much! This was my first time purchasing a Kay Arthur book. She does a wonderful job of outlining the book as well as highlighting big topics of each chapter of each book. This book went through each chapter thoroughly. I loved how there was a lot of application questions and "food for thought" questions. I was challenged in many ways. It also helped me to learn how to study my bible better. At the time I was working on disciplining myself to get into the Word everyday. This really helped me to do so because it was a good amount of time to study, yet it was written to where I can have a good stopping point after each day. It was not a full on commentary, but for what I was looking for, it was just what I needed to help me go through these books of the bible. I highly recommend this source, especially for women.

Meh, I’d find another guide
I don’t like this study guide. It feels like I’m either making lists upon lists!!! (ie record what you learned in this chapter, what you learn about Paul) or underlining stuff (mark joy/Jesus/Holy Spirit/references to Philippians). It’s like a basic study guide - try to figure out who/what/where/when/why. There are questions at the end of the chapter for discussion that are not good if you’re trying to this by yourself, but ok as a group. Some are quite deep and personal so our leader told us which questions to prepare for. I love Jen Wilkin’s studies so I was hoping this would be similar but it’s really not the same. This book is a read and write in a separate journal type.

Superb Study Material for Groups and Individuals!
Have used this study in various group contexts and absolutely love the way Kay and David break everything down for the reader. They make great use of biblical history and language clues from the original Greek to dissect and discover key ideas in Scripture, teaching the reader how to inductively study the Bible while also helping to build discipline in taking a deeper look at the Word by providing structured directives and daily opportunities to immerse oneself in what God has to say in each passage. "That I May Know Him" is an illuminating and enriching guide that works great in both individual and group contexts and I cannot wait to work through other books in this series!

Great Devotional Tool
This guide to the the Epistles of Philippians & Colossians is a must for the first time reader as well as for someone who is familiar with the books. This resource is clear, full of incite and well-organized to aid the Bible student, house wife, and pastor alike.
