This is a microphone with angle-poise arm and a separate tripod. So it is an alternative to a Snowball.

Is the onyx pro mic & arm just usb into pc or does it require more equipment?

It comes with a USB cable and goes straight in. Windows will see it and install the right driver. No need for an amp. My 13 yr old is really happy with it. Good bit of kit for the money.
