Thrilled with the matte black
The appearance and printability of the Hatchbox matte black is amazing. Using a .3mm brass nozzle on an Artemis, small parts come out super clean. At first I did not realize they recommend 210c or hotter, so I printed at 200c and it did not work so well. At 210c, the results looked fantastic, but putting some shear force on it cause it to delaminate, so I upped it to 220 and it was much stronger. I have not yet printed enough to know if there will be abrasion wear on the nozzle. Bridging is as good as one could hope for at .35mm extrusion width and .2mm layers. I have been using Hatchbox white for years, so I expected high quality and was not disappointed. Update 7/4/2023: As nice as it looks, the interlayer adhesion is not that great, even when printed at 230c. It reminds me of how most silk filaments are weak interlayer. If you print something that is thick with dense infill, it can be fairly strong, but anything that is hollow with thin walls will break easily.

Trick to make it stronger- Adjust your settings
I love Hatchbox. And this filament provides the most beautiful finish I've ever seen-BUT - you need to change your regular PLA settings a bit to get the same strength. My was brittle before I tested and changed these few things from my regular Hatchbox PLA.First- This filament needs to print at a HIGHER TEMP.220-225C seems best in my case.Second- This filament needs LOWER RETRACTION.It doesn't string as much. With my bowden tube set-up, I had to change my retraction from 6mm to 3mm.Third- (MOST IMPORTANT) This filament needs a higher flow rate.I changed my flowrate from 95% to 120%, and now it's much stronger. The layers adhere better.Test it yourself on your printer and see what settings work best for you. These work best for me on mine.Hope I helped!

Great filament, if your settings are right
Like many other people have mentioned, this PLA does not print like most other kinds of PLA. It's stiffer and requires a higher temperature, a larger extrusion multiplier, and less retraction. If you try to use a normal PLA profile it will not turn out well. With the right settings it prints great, and looks fantastic. It's way more matte than any other white filament I've used.

Matte is beautiful, but prints like a dried out caulk gun if you don't tune it
TLDR; The matte finish is beautiful, and this might be my new favorite PLA. Slow your print or this will clog. I had to print at 25mm/s instead of the usual 50mm/s. Turn up the heat, or this will clog. I used the max recommended 130C. You might also need to turn off the fan, or this will clog. It's not really prone to stringing, but tuning your retraction speed and length will help reduce tiny blobs (I used 11mm @ 45mm/s).The matte brown looks great, like modeling clay, though I'd call it a light olive green more than brown. The "Kraft" is also a very nice cream/tan color. But I had to really slow down and heat up my nozzle to get it to print correctly. I have an old-school Creality CR-10 v1, and after many print failures, finally got it to print at 130C @ 25mm/s with 0% cooling fan on a 60C bed. Getting your Z-offset dialed in to the hundredth of a mm also helps (too high, poor adhesion; too deep, lots of whisper thin stringing).Initial attempts would print the 1st layer just great, then layer 2 the speed settings ramp up and the filament would start to occasionally skip because the extruder couldn't push it fast enough, then layer 3 was an immediate and utter failure - the filament just couldn't extrude fast enough and would clog. Most slicers slow the first couple of layers down before speeding up (mine was set 20mm/s for initial layers, then full speed at 50mm/s), so my first attempt at troubleshooting was to slow it all down to 25mm/s. That helped some, but layer 3 still was an utter failure. That's when I realized the only difference across layers was the fan speed, starting at 0% increasing to 100% over layers 1-4. Any fan at all was essentially freezing the filament right in the nozzle tip and causing it to clog. Only when I turned the fan off completely did it start laying down all layers like butter.Pictured prints are from topos of Prague river and Prague castle, using Kraft and Brown colors respectively.

Super Nice Filament!
This filament printed flawlessly. I would definitely buy Hatchbox filament again and recommend it. No adhesion problems, no clogging ... no negative issues whatsoever. Any problems others have might be caused by printer settings rather than the filament.

Good filament in my books
Never had any issues with hatchbox with this roll and matte PLA looks great in my opinion. Never had any quality issues. Avoid transparent PLA for now. Humidity control issue for 3 rolls I got.(Same price directly from hatchbox (at time of review) so if you don’t need it next day I would order from them. That’s when i do my bulk orders.)

Used to be the best
I have used Hatchbox PLA, specifically this gray since 2018 in my Ender 3. Once I had my settings dialed in I have always loved the results. I bought 2 rolls in October/November to finish a large project. Opening the first box I could feel the material was different/softer. I had multiple prints fail die to under extrusion. I troubleshoot every possibility. Occasionally a small print would be fine, but my extruder would be covered in shavings. I finally gave up & sent the rest of the project to a friend to print.Months later I decided to just do top to bottom maintenance and try again. I got one small print to not be terrible but each after under extrusion. I grabbed the last bit of Hatchbox PLA I had from a previous roll, barely anything left. The print came out perfectly. The issue is the Hatchbox PLA I bought at the end of 2022 is too soft & gets chewed up by the extruder making it difficult to extrude the pla constantly.I’m going to have to switch brands because I can’t even return these two rolls as I had to open the second one to check if it had the same problem.

Beautiful Looking Terra Cotta Color PLA
I make miniature room boxes and have used this PLA to make the tile floor in this kitchen scene. The PLA is not shiny making it perfect for that terra cotta-like appearance. The spool worked well and the filament did not clog- or tangle up. The quality is amazing and I will order again.

Received a on open box with PLA already consumed
Bought new, got an open box (plastic was unsealed and PLA had extruder marks)!Need to start printing today, so I can’t return it, but I’m missing a lot of PLA!!

Buena calidad.
Se me humedeció e imprimía algo feo, pero fue por el error del mal mantenimiento, aún así imprimía “bien”. Solo no con la calidad de siempre. Hatchbox tiene una calidad y renombre bueno, valen la pena.

Great quality
I've been using this filament on my Bambu A1 mini and so far it's been great. The matt finish gives you a really realistic look and when the layer height is 0.08mm you can't even see the layers. I tend to use sport mode A1 mini and this filament has no issues keeping up with the printer. I'd happily order again.
