Not bad!
I purchased this razor because of it's ability to be used in the shower. Just love that HOT water down the back while shaving. Great way to wake up.At first, it just seemed to be a little on the weak side. Not much sound of power like my previous razor BUT, it did give a good shave. I have tried it with shaving jell in the shower, works great. I have tried it in the shower and just hot water and not so great. I have used it with pre or electric shave out of the shower and again it is great, almost as good as a blade. For those new to electric shavers, Norelco will tell you to give it a couple weeks to GET USED TO IT. I believe this to be true. I had my first Norelco when I was a young man. I remember it taking time to get used to it. Then it was years later that I went back to an electric razor. AGAIN, THE SAME THING, IT TOOK ABOUT A WEEK TO GET BACK IN THE GROOVE. Now, I wouldn't have it any other way and very rarely do I use a blade. My old Norelco lasted almost 16 years and I loved it. Hope this one does as well.

Great Gift!
Got this as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend who was in the habit of buying cheap, junky razors. He absolutely LOVES this thing! Says it gives a nice, easy shave and he likes that it doesn't irritate his face at all. And since the head can be replaced when this one wears out, I have Christmas gifts for every year from now on!

Close Shave with Little Effort
I've owned several Norelco razors in the past 4 decades, so this is just the newest one of many. I'm replacing a 12 year old Remington Rotary Blade Razor that still has the original cutting heads, despite being on its' 3rd set of batteries. I have big expectations of the new Norelco, the suggested 12 month cutting head replacement recommendation not withstanding. My primary reason for this model was the charging stand, to charge upright and save counter space already cluttered with rechargable toothbrush and chargers for other trimmers and devices. Waterproof/washable? Not anything new or innovative, since my 12 year old Remington had the same features, as did a previous Norelco. I have no plans to use it with shaving gel, since it is a mess to completely clean it up in a hurry afterwards. Thru past experience it shortens cutter life when gunked up shaving gel hardens into place inside of the cutter head.As for cleaning: all rotary head razors need to keep the 2 piece head and cutter components together as matching sets. If you mix them up, they won't wear or seat properly, and you won't get an easy and close shave for as long. My Old Remington head was a single unit that allowed disassembly of each head/cutter set individually; you need to be more careful with the Norelco, since heads and cutters just lie loose in the retainer, and it's easy for them to all fall out and become mixed up - I consider this a continuing design flaw on Norelco's part, and needs to be addressed in the future. Otherwise, it may well be necessary to replace the shaving head every 12 months ... maybe Norelco is counting on that???I clean my cutter/head assembly at every charge, about every week, using a brush to first sweep out hair particles, and then a foaming spray bathroom tile and sink cleaner, which cuts skin oils and removes all debris. After a warm water rinse, I let it all air dry, then reassemble, and spray the heads with a spray electric razor head lube. I attribute proper and frequent care and cleaning to the 12 year long head life on my previous razor, and longer than expected life on other previous Norelcos, and I hope to once again cheat the Norelco Replacement Parts Dept. by continuing this simple routine maintenance. The weakest part of Norelco razors that I've noticed on several of my own "cheaper" models, and also on a couple of my Father's high end models is the silicone rubber panels used for grip and also for the waterproof power pushbutton built into the handle, is the fact that the silicone material degrades and peels apart in a few years, even though the razor still mechanically functions properly otherwise.Summary: Great Shave that can be maintained by frequent and thorough cleaning and lubrication, take care not tpo mix up cutter and head pairs, and the thumbs down that prevented 5 stars is the silicone rubber that eventually peels and degrades. This is the first rechargable I've owned that has a low battery warning - a definite plus in my book!As for price -- look around and compare the manufacturer website price with other on-line websites, and you can realize a BIG and significant savings.Another point of small annoyance is the fact that Norelco is unable to produce a particular model number then stick with it. This makes it more difficult to wade thru all the often redundant models in search of the most current one - there are new models as this one is, then there are older models carried by retailers, and it is usually a mystery as to which one is more current.

Razor review
My son was very happy with the product and it's functioning. Would consider this manufacturer in the future for other gifts.
