Does what it is supposed to do - protect your head
I bought this cap to keep me from whacking my head in the confined engine room of my boat and within a few minutes of putting it on, I had saved myself from two bumps that in the past might have drawn blood. Every time I wear this hat in a confined space, I find there are one or two times it bumps up against something and I say to myself that it has paid for itself yet again. I have recommended them to my friends and know a few have bought them too. While it is not as light or comfortable as a regular baseball cap, it is far better than a hard hat or helmet. I have gone out and about several times while wearing the hat and have not realized I still had it on instead of a regular ball cap. That said, it does not offer the same level of ventilation. If my head is getting warm and a bit sweaty while wearing it in our Houston winter, I can imagine it will be unpleasant in the summer heat. That said, having to deal with blood running down your forehead is worse than having to deal with a bit of sweat, so I will gladly endure the lack of ventilation to get the protection. You can tell there is something different about the hat if you look at it closely, but I think it looks fine. It appears to be well constructed with quality materials.

It's not as incognito as other reviewers have said
Pros- Let me state that this hat is doing exactly what I want. It's not obvious it's a bump cap, and I work in tight mechanical rooms where hardhats aren't even required nor would they work as well as this hat. I like that it doesn't have any branding on it and it's otherwise fairly attractive. Cons- Although it has ventilation holes both in the plastic shell and the outer hat, the front does not. See the photo I included to see what perspiration on a 70F day looks like. Despite the warning stickers on the hat, I will be drilling holes in the front to allow for better airflow. Fitmet isn't great, at least for me. I sometimes have trouble getting hats and motorcycle helmets to fit my oval head, but I am not sure how this is supposed to fit. The front top sticks up a lot, and it resembled a conehead. I took the plastic shell out of the hat and positioned it on my had where it was most comfortable and flat on top of my head. But that ended up with the front bottom of the shell hanging over my eyebrows. I don't see how that is supposed to work at all. I would buy it again, but only because I couldn't find any others that matched the features of this hat. But it would be nice if they worked on making it fit a normal head.

A great comfortable head saver.
This hat is strong, lightweight and comfortable. And fits well. I have to be careful of falls and head bumps. Iโve recommended this hat to many people. Even my doctor has recommended it to patients after seeing it first hand. Well worth the inexpensive cost.

Great protection for those concerned about falling
This "cap" saved my husband from serious injury. My husband has Parkinson's disease and had DBS surgery six years ago. His walker caught on a threshold in our home and he fell. Although he broke his nose in two places and had several facial lacerations, the CT scan showed no further damage even though his head had hit the ceramic floor and the door jamb. I had just placed his helmet on him shortly before his fall. I highly recommend this protective cap for anyone who is concerned about falling. Besides, this cap looks really good on him! No one knows it's a helmet.

Will protect your head but it's heavy (8.5 oz), uncomfortable, and dorky looking
I bought this and the bump cap liners from the same company (Skullerz) at the same time and I prefer the liners hands down. 1st, this hat weighs 8.5 ounces whereas the liners weigh 2.5 ounces. It's surprisingly heavy. 2nd, they say one size fits all but it really doesn't. The liners are more adjustable for size and more comfortable. 3rd this hat looks dorky whereas the liners fit inside just about any kind of hat that has a sweat band on the inside. I even put a liner inside a wide brim sun hat and it fit perfectly. So, for those multiple reasons I decided to return this hat and stick with the liners. I can't see myself ever wearing this to work because of the weight, uncomfortable fit, and the way it looks. You can also buy a pack of 2 liners for less than the cost of this hat.

PRODIGIOUS IDEA: Federal, State, Local And "BIG-BOX" Warehouse Retailers, As Well Self-Employed + Vet's TBI, etc.. Look Into???
This is a "fantastic" product- idea- probably from "horse-riding competition" "Safety" caps-perhaps??? I would recommend this- similar products to those veterans with TBI, etc... if participating in "activity" that might result in "additional" shocks to the head as well as all those work in "warehouse" environment, attics-crawl spaces, etc.... Furthermore, I do not understand why Federal employees, such as US Postal workers etc...in my Region of the Gulf Coast, are not required to utilize similar to protect their heads from "falling" packages, delivery vehicle accident's- "catastrophic" break-downs etc.... The US Postal Service and other "federal" agencies used to have "uniform" STANDARDS and wore "distinctive uniforms (ALL)" and "pith-like-jungle" helmets, eye protection, hand and foot protection, plus "high-visibility" protection for "low-light" conditions, that used to be "enforced" once upon a time! What happens, if in fact a Federal employee, not wearing OSHA approved or International Standard approved, safety gear has an "on-duty" accident that requires "severe" medical attention, or even minor, and were in fact not wearing "proper" safety equipment? Is even an, as per US Military- LINE OF DUTY INVESTIGATION- conducted to not only "determine" cause of accident, but if in fact said "employee" was "negligent" in not wearing their proper safety equipment, adhering to "protocol" an/or their "Chain of Command" "responsible" in not enforcing "uniform" "safety" standards????? Well, if not I guess the US "taxpayer" simply "foots-the-bill" for medical treatment, equipment replacement, and possible "full-medical" retirement with "benefits!" The same goes for both State and local employees, this reviewer and other's constantly see in this region- perhaps??? Bottom-Line: This is great "idea" and "bump" caps of this sort come in many different levels of OSHA "recommended" safety protection levels that say, workers in a "warehouse" and or "big-box" store "stocking" department, were they are working around "high" racks of stacked "merchandise" could fall off and hit them!!! Highly recommend for both veterans with TBI as well as all employees- both "private" and "public" sector for "head-protection" as well as any "incarcerated" US citizens working in various capacities "outdoors" whom could be injured by "falling" off vehicle, or tools they are utilizing etc.. as whom will "fully-compensate" them/ and or their families if they are "injured" while working "incarcerated!" Wonder if anyone make these with D30- shock-absorbing foam in them.?????? Excelente producto.
