This is a cute set, but very flimsy for the price. Directions were hard to follow.

Looks Good, But Difficult Assembly, Poor Fasteners, and Some Damage.
The item was a challenge to put together, and I am a veteran of many different kinds of "assembly required" Christmas decorations. The holes and spikes either don't line up easily, or they slide in TOO easily and must be reinforced with zip ties. There are some zip ties supplied, but they are TINY -- use your own and don't skimp if you want this thing to resist wind and December weather. Unfortunately, using the zip ties usually requires poking holes in the fabric -- sometimes through several layers, and you can't always see what you're doing, since the struts that must be joined are frequently sewn under those layers of fabric. In addition, two pieces of the kit were broken when it arrived -- fortunately, neither was very important -- Santa's belt buckle had come unglued and the green box "present" was torn almost in half. As for the present box, it was just as well it came broken; assembly would have required forming a cube out of a flat piece of plastic fabric with tabs that, even if the item were undamaged, would have constantly slipped out of their slots. I doubt I would have used it even had it been undamaged. The ground stakes provided with the item -- indeed with every outdoor Christmas decoration I have seen over the past several years -- are woefully inadequate, and a stiff wind would certainly unmoor the whole thing if you relied solely upon them. If you have genuine tent stakes (thicker and longer), that would be a much better solution. If not, you can buy a box of gardening stakes and double-stake every point of contact with the ground. Make sure to stake the contact points at multiple angles -- never straight down, because varied angles provide better wind resistance. I also used a rubber mallet to secure the stakes. I live in the Virginia DC suburbs, so the weather ranges from the sixties down to the twenties before Christmas, with wind that can gust at 30 mph on a windy day, or much more in a storm. I'm hoping there won't be any particularly bad storms between now and New Year's because I don't want to be chasing this thing down the street. So that all sounds pretty negative -- tough assembly, inadequate fasteners and some broken parts. But I would prefer to give the item 2 1/2 stars instead of 2, if Amazon offered the half-star option. Santa's belt buckle would have been barely visible and I have a glue gun, so I can easily reset it myself. And that "present" -- who cares? In fact, the item looks pretty good on my lawn. We got some compliments from passing neighbors as we were completing assembly. I don't understand the reviewers who complain that the kit is only 12 inches tall. It's bigger than that. The heads of Santa and the reindeer stand about 3 feet off the ground, and the rest of the item is proportional. It's easily visible from across your average suburban street. The lights are bright and the colorful-but-sheer fabric seems reasonably durable and well-sewn at the seams. Of course, having to poke holes in that fabric to accommodate zip ties is not going to help the longevity of the item, but these things are designed to last 3-4 years at the most. Several years back, the trend in Christmas yard decor was aluminum slabs shaped like Santa, Rudolph, the words "Merry Christmas", etc, with small, pointy, colored incandescent lights poking through round holes in the slab. We had a couple of those things and now all but one are dead and gone due to large sections of lights that went out. These 3D yard decorations are an improvement over the aluminum slabs because the slabs didn't have enough lights to articulate what the decoration was supposed to be in the dark (it was just a vague, brightly-colored shape). But these newer 3D decorations use precisely the same type of pointy incandescent lights. It's always a challenge to manage the voltage to avoid tripping a breaker (at best) -- I wish the manufacturers making these things would start using LED bulbs, which are much less of a fire hazard, so you can safely string more lighted items on a timer or in a single power outlet. I've had LED Christmas tree lights for about five years, and they still work fine, and you can string more of them together without risking a fire. I have year-round LED outdoor lights over my porch, garage, and in my backyard that are supposed to turn on at dusk and off at dawn but, in fact, they remain on most of the day because of the way they were installed (poorly) and the shadows and angle of the sun most of the year; anyway I installed the first of these LED lights on my porch more than a year ago and I have not had to replace it despite near-constant use. The halogen bulbs we used to use lasted 6-8 months at the most. Oh my, I'm off on a bit of a tangent here. Sorry. Hopefully LEDs will find their way into outdoor Christmas decorations soon, but I doubt it because they are not designed to last more than 3-4 years. But Santa looks good on my lawn in 2015, despite his lack of a belt buckle and a fake present.

Poor Packing-Stored for very long time
The item arrived in a damaged box in multiple areas. The bubble wrap did not properly cover the components which caused the glitter used to be everywhere. Some plastic components are brittle and breaking on touch which is a sign that the item has been manufactured and stored for very for long time.
