Instead of scrambling to find a gift bag and tissue paper for gifts, I’ve purchased these bags in bulk along with a variety pack of diff colored tissue paper for every occasion. This helps me to stay ready when gift giving. I love these bags.

These “UCGOU Brown Kraft Paper Gift Bags” have twisted handles and come in three sizes I’d describe as small, medium and large. For size reference, an adult size 10 shoe box (not a slim sandal box) fills the largest bag. These seem to be modest quality, bulk paper bags that look decent for plain and simple bags. To me, the style (but not strength) looks more like shopping bags than gift bags, but nice tissue can be added and they can be decorated or personalized to look cuter for wrapping gifts.The paper is thick enough that it looks smooth instead of crinkly or and lays flat unlike some other Kraft bags I have made of thin paper, but so far these don’t seem very strong. The bottoms aren’t reinforced and the handles are thin. While none of my bags have torn through at the bottom and no handles have broken yet, I’m careful to support the bottom with my hand and also don’t carry the larger bags by the handles. I’m also careful to use the bags for lighter weight, non breakable items.I have had 4 bags tear at the rim or down the side when I simply reached into the flat bags to open them. I don’t feel I was being rough or mishandling them, so they don’t seem all that strong to me. I now use an extra gentle touch opening and filling them, and I also don’t put any heavy items in them. These may be fine as gift bags for light items but won’t be suitable for all purposes. For example, I wouldn’t use these as grocery or take out food bags.For now, I’m rating these bags 3.5 stars as these are called “gift” bags (suggesting not intended to be filled with stuff like groceries) and seem good enough for holding lightweight items so long as one is extra careful handling the bags, but they don’t seem well suited to other purposes. I’m rounding up to 4 stars because these are value priced at $.35 a bag (current price $25.99 for 75 bags) and are essentially budget bags, plus I can’t fully judge the extent of the tearing issue as I have many bags left and some bags have held up fine. I may update as appropriate.

Great looking bags perfect for gifts, shopping, or just keeping around the house for sending things to work/school/people's houses. I usually keep at least one pack of plain gift bags like these by my front door for just this purpose and I gotta tell you, when I started doing that years ago everyone thought it was nuts. Now I know like 5 or 6 other people who do it and swear by it, too. Mom forgot to bring home a couple of cake pans and her work binder? Stick 'em in a bag. Found your Dad's favorite crackers at the store? Stick it in a bag with the potholder he left behind and he can grab both on his way out. Friend left their kid's clothes here after they went swimming? Wash, dry, bag. So easy and people really do keep better-quality bags to reuse again and again.These are super sturdy and thick, so great for this purpose since they're made to hold a little weight and are nice enough that I've noticed most people fold them up and keep them for later, too. The interior is not black but the exterior is, and the color contrast is actually kind of chic and nice. Handles are well attached and sizes are bagged separately so it's easy to grab exactly the one you want.Overall I'm super happy with these and would absolutely consider them recommended.
