Powerful, comfortable & light, fast; love it!
Wanted something easy for my arthritic hand & shoulder but w/ a lot of power. Chose this one because so many reviewers thought it was too powerful. It’s perfect! It literally flew thru the thickest & heaviest job I needed it for like it was just fluffy whip cream! Can’t explain why it’s 220 watt motor seems to be a lot more powerful than the 250 watt motor on my black & decker hand mixer, but it sure is!! That’s what I needed; the most power I could get w/o spending a lot of money for a stand mixer. Also needed beaters that would plow thru anything w/o any coating or electroplated pieces peeling or chipping off in food. These beaters seem stronger & better equipped for hard service than my B&D beaters which appear to be chrome plated & I’m afraid the chrome will chip off into food & beaters begin rusting under any hairline crack or lifting of the chrome. I was also afraid of my B&D beaters bending in heavy mixing jobs. But the solid stainless steel Cuisinart beaters seem to be very sturdy & even thicker metal & I’m not concerned about any of those things after seeing how easily these beaters blast thru tough jobs! Was also concerned about flying food after reading the reviews; but I had no problems like that & my little Cuisinart mixer handled beautifully! In a side by side comparison w/ the 250 watt B&D motored hand mixer, the 220 watt Cuisinart motor did the job on the thickest/heaviest mixing job in half the time & w/ noticably more thoroughness. That’s important when you have to get it done quick before your hand & shoulder hurt too much to keep going (older & injured cooks know what I mean)! It’s light & very easy to hold & handle & more comfortable for me than the B&D mixer (which is also small). I found the speed conteol to be difficult if I was pushing it forward/back w/ my finger on top of it like it’s designed to be. Thought that was a deal breaker for me. Found I could just slide it upwards or downwards from it’s bottom or top edge easily & that was very comfortable to do w/o being cumbersome or awkward at all. I had no flying food issues like so many reviews stated. It certainly has the power to turn food into ceiling art, but common sense/experience/& the right bowl for the job do make a difference. The cord is as thick as a window AC cord or outdoor utility cord! That was unusual; & w/ it folded & bound for packaging, it was a challenge since it wanted to hold onto those folds & bends despite being stretched out. The swivel is a nice touch tho & helped til I can get the cord to straighten & limber up. I didn’t think the cord was too short or too long & was a good length. I still have my 1st cheapo tiny hand mixer I bought new in ‘76 & it still works as good as new. I bought the B&D & this Cusinart thinking they’d have newer motors & knowing I was mixing very heavy mixing jobs & didn’t want to burn out the motor of my little old mixer. It’s such a good little mixer that I use for everything even today-except for the heaviest mixing I do. I can tell the B&D isn’t what I wanted for those heavy jobs after trying it, but thanking my good luck in opting to try this Cusinart!!! It really is perfect! I only wish I knew if the gears in it are metal or plastic. If it lasts, this is a BEST BUY!! If it strips out or burns out, it was inexpensive & will do a wonderful job while it lasts. Hoping for long term use & counting on the Cuisinart name that it’s built well & will hold up for yrs! When ordering the Cuisinart from Amazon, I was given a l-o-n-g expected arrival date. But happily it was here in about 7-8 days I think w/o looking it up. Great little mixer.

Good Vaule, Powerful, Light and Speedy
I bought this Cuisinart CHM-3 hand mixer to replace my Braun hand mixer, which I have used for past ten years until the motor died. I bake sweets once or twice a week and have been using the mixer mostly for mixing cake batter and cookie dough. I chose Cuisinart over other brands because I currently own their food processor and found that it has been a sturdy machine since I bought it 12 years ago. The day after I received the Cuisinart mixer I used it to mix cake batter, and it blended all the ingredients smoothly and quickly. Simple to use with 3-speed adjuster that is a thumb-switch away while you're mixing. It is lightweight but not flimsy. I read and agree with previous users who said it is too powerful even on lowest setting, but there was no splattering of cake mixes as some reviewers have mentioned. I think using a deep mixing bowl might have eliminated splattering. I don't know how convenient it is to have that swivel cord feature, maybe some of you would find it useful if you are left-handed. Only time will tell whether this Cuisinart mixer will outlast my Braun mixer. The bottom line: If you want a powerful, easy-to-use, and reliable electric hand mixer, consider getting the Cuisinart CHM-3.

Very nice, low cost hand mixer
For a 3 speed, low cost mixer, this is great. The low speed is pretty high if you want to mix dry, powdery flour with liquids - expect dust flying. I have found if I just stir a little with the mixer (off) then it helps to start the mixing procedure. Then I turn it on low and quickly stir around the bowl and it mixes up pretty fast.Make sure you put the beaters in the correct holes...the larger hole takes the beater with the extra metal ring where it clicks in the hole. Make sure you hear each beater click into place before turning on the mixer or you will lose them by flying out of the mixer. Very easy to clean without the middle stem and your batter won't stick in-between the wire and have to dig it out like old-fashioned beaters. It makes a fast task with angel food cakes, whips the egg whites up nicely. Made a pound cake and that blended smooth and lite. I would recommend this for anyone needing a fairly light weight, easy to use hand mixer.

Perfect
At first few uses I could not seem to get the mixer on Speed 1 and found the mixer too fast. Maybe the switch loosened up, but I found the slow setting and I now make excellent whip cream in record time. The whisk-like beaters may make a contribution, but I am now happy with my purchase.

Awesome mixer-crappy delivery!
This mixer is incredibly easy to use, the unit wipes clean easily & the mixers clean very well with not having food caught in the center like the old fashioned mixers. My ONLY complaint was it arrived with the box all torn up as if it was tossed around. For me, that’s upsetting as I store my small appliances in their original boxes & now I can’t close this box. Otherwise, I would’ve given a 5* rating.

Amazing Power Unleashed
This was the first time in many years that I purchased a new hand held mixer. I did not know what to expect as my old hand held mixer had settings from 1 to 10. I researched many brands of hand held mixers on line and read reviews from each one. I decided to purchse the Cuisinart even though it only had 3 speeds. Many of the new mixers are that way and I just could not understand why fewer speeds. Anyway, I chose the Cuisinart and I am certainly overjoyed with its' performance and power. It is very easy to hold while mixing and the 3 speeds are all that I could ever want or need. I am amazed at the tremendous power of speed 3 and the lower power of speed 1. This is all you will ever need for mixing. I love the new beaters that have no center post. Talk about easy cleaning, this is a snap! It is such an excellent built electronic mixer and so handsome in style. Get it today!
