The Milly-Molly-Mandy Storybook

This book was memorable from my childhood, and even though the childhood depicted in the Milly Molly Mandy stories was fading even by the time I was a child, I remember loving it, being charmed by the life Milly Molly Mandy led, surrounded by her family, with a life full of fun pursuits, in a village where everyone knows each other, and where things aren't so complex, much more enjoyable. Church fetes, sleepovers, hobbies, school, surprises, and much, much more. I was delighted to read this again, and gave it as a gift to my niece Molly, as I love it when I find books with her name in, same as I try to do with my sons and nephews. I'll be buying the books for myself again though if my parents don't still have my copies from my childhood.

Simply adorable! My three year old daughter LOVE this book! The stories are simple and self contained in each chapter-yet lend to the progress of the whole book. The simplicity is adorable with a touch of quirky. Even my 7 year old boys like to join in with us while we read this book. Great childhood experiences brought to life with adorable illustrations. A true children's classic!

Best storybook ever for little kids! So nice to have a break from all the junk out there--just licensed characters and Princesses! This is a wonderful break to simpler times with interesting stories!

These stories are very well written. Milly Molly Mandy is a very polite girl who is very responsible and respectful. She has many qualities that I would love to see in my own children. What a perfect book full of 3-5 minute stories to help inspire my children! My sons and daughters alike are enjoying these adventures!

My almost 4 year old and I are experimenting with chapter books. This is great because there are some pictures (although not as many as hed like). The chapters are like short stories, so a young reader doesn't have to remember a long plot from night to night. Great book!

Great book for new readers and young ones who need to be read too!

What a precious book that can teach children about life in the early 1900s. It is filled with kindness, friendship, family and love for others. Recommended reading for young girls especially. The sweet pictures are a bonus!

This book is a wonderful story book, very wholesome. This is a book I read to my five year old, he enjoys it.

Milly Molly Mandy is one of my favourite children's characters.As a teacher, I've read it to classes of 6-8-year-olds and the boys loved it as much as the girls.The stories are great jumping off points for little history lessons because it is set at a time when the shops used old money, you could buy loads for a penny, normal people still didn't have cars, children had just two or three sets of clothes, played outside for their entertainment, and people would call at a cottage asking to buy a glass of milk.I love knowing that each page has the innocence of childhood and goodness which is sadly lacking in today's media offerings for children.I bought the kindle version so that I could share it with my 7-year-old granddaughter who lives an ocean away from me. I use Skype screen sharing so she can see the pictures and words as I dead.

I grew up listening to the audio-cassettes of Milly Molly Mandy, unable to find any recordings I has to instead go for the books.I bought two of these and gave them to my two sisters, one cried a little as the nostalgia of "little white cottage with a thatched roof" got the better of her. Both enjoy reading this to their young ones and also stepping back in time to their own childhood.The book itself is well made.Plenty stories to give the book some longevity.Great wee addition is the map at the front

This was for my grand-daughters. I love the old-fashioned innocence and simplicity of these stories, and they're each quite short, so make perfect bed-time stories.

A nostalgic trip to my childhood which I shall introduce to my granddaughter who I'm sure will also love it. An attractively produced book which was beautifully packed by the seller.
