Comparision of Diva and Babyliss wavers
I own both the Diva Beach waver and the Babyliss Wave Envy, hopefully this guide will help you get the right product for you.Longer hair - use the Wave Envy (Babyliss)Short layers - use the Beach waver (Diva)Volume - close to the head - Diva product.I have fine hair, so the curls drop out within the hour - except with these 2 products which is why I'm so excited by them. These tools mean that for those of us with fine hair, we can have an amazing hairstyle... that lasts for 2 - 3 days. (It really lasts until you wash your hair!)The Wave Envy is faster to style with, simply because it's twice the size of the Beach waver. However for anyone with shorter/medium length hair, the Diva product is definitely the best - as that handles short layers and volumises the crown - and is even easier to use as it's smaller. Both heat up in seconds. The better build quality is the Diva product but the fact that I love the silky silicon coating is just my preference. The waves on longer hair (over shoulder length) are easier with the wave envy.So if you intend just to use the longer layers below your eyeline, then use the wave envy for overall speed and beautiful waves. The results of both are simply stunning! You won't be disappointed, as for those with fine hair, you'll kick yourself if you miss out on these stylers. They are nothing like the results from wands etc... and you'll get compliments from everyone. That's the hallmark of a good product. Fast, easy to use, basically idiot proof for below average stylists like myself, and give stunning results. You can't ask for more. :)I just hope Babyliss make more products using this crimper/waver combination, as it's a winner.

First impressions = totally brilliant.
I have hair down to nearly my bra line.My hair has some curl when wet....holds a lot of water ...and then is poker straight when dry.I've spent 3 years growing my hair from a pixie crop and TBH am getting a bit bored of it long...so trying to find various styles.I've always loved curly hair but just cannot do it.I've tried straighteners.tongs.foam curlers, hot curlers, twizzlers and twirlers...everything and I just cannot do it.I don't know whether its my fault i.e. I can't do it well enough or my hair won't take it...or the products are just rubbish. This was my last go at curling and TBH I didnt even know it existed until I began to think someone must have made a straighten iron curl!!!! I remember my mum "crimping" my hair in the early 1980's - and I took the same approach to these, as my mum took back then. I didn't wash my hair and did it in small sections from the bottom up. I found it quite easy to use...it does get heavy...and it does get very hot.I'm a pro with my long hair and very expensive straighteners - but where I get my irons right up to my scalp and down,I did find this very hot for my scalp...start a bit further down!!! I watched a few online videos on how to use it and what the outcome should be...and saw a good tip about not "dragging" the hair down...rather more lifting it up as you get to the ends - and don't separate the hair until the hair is "cool". For a first timer, I think I managed it rather well...found the back a bit harder as I went on.I have a lot of hair and the back will need practice. I did like the effect more when I used smaller sections of hair...and some online videos suggested using hairspray on the section first, but I was a bit worried about doing that. Although I have a lot of hair and its long,it has got thinner at the ends and generally a day after washing,it can be quite lifeless. I found this gave it a bit of texture and a bit of "omph". I would say it gave a curl somewhere between crimping and beach curls.Almost like you had gone to bed with your hair in tiny plaits and took them out the next morning. I did find the effect lasted for 2-3 days - and as I say I found even when the "curl" had dropped,it still gave my hair a bit of something, which I liked. I've only had one go at this and already I can see,I will use it loads.I tend to go to the hairdressers if I have an an occasion to go to for a "big" blow-dry - and during the working week,I normally wear my hair up - but I will definitely be using these on weekends and when its time to do my own hair. Its the best process I've found so far for "curling".I love it.

A good product
I have very thick, all one length hair to my shoulders. I find this styler very easy and quick to use. I clip the top of my hair up and start to wave the sections underneath and then do the top sections.I do find the wave quite strong and my hair actually looked a bit 'naturally curly' and a little frizzy. I don't know whether this is because of the length or thickness of my hair (or both). I use a bit of serum after styling.I waved my hair and went out for the evening and it was still a bit wavy the next day. I think this is a great product but probably best used on longer hair. Because I have thick dark hair I ended up with a bit of an ancient Egyptian look (if you know what I mean!) Good fun to use and a great price.
