I’ve used this weekly to scrape up hair my golden leaves in my bedroom carpet! It works amazing. Catches things the vacuum doesn’t.

This actually did more than I expected. It fluffed the rug up a bit, it still looks kind of raggedy but at least it's not totally flat. Definitely more practical for small areas like stairs. It will be a big job to do my whole area rug but it might be worth it. I went over the same area a few times. It looks more like a rug instead of a pancake now. I'll have to see how it looks in a few days since it seems like as soon as I step on it it'll be back how it was. You might get good results if you do this together with a shampoo or steam cleaner. It doesn't look like new but it does look fluffed up.* update, when I kept going over the less- trafficked areas it was a little easier to brush and looked better. It also pulled up a lot of hair and trapped crumbs and stuff. I think after this a good vacuum will help too. I changed from 3 to 4 stars because for the price it's a pretty good improvement and might buy us some time for our kids to get older before we have to buy an expensive new rug.(Note: I don't have pets but I've got kids, they don't shed as bad as dogs but they do have long hair and forget to take off shoes or leave food in the kitchen ;) )* update: it's kind of addictive, I did a whole section in a few more minutes and you can see it does look much better.

Doesn't take knots out. Too soft to get down into the fibers. My rug is only 1" long shag.Just use a hair brush and take your time brushing. If you can take the rug outside and drape it out on some supports this brush wouldn't preform any better than a standard hair brush.

Used it on my flattened worn rug and everyone was amazed at how great the rug looked. It looked new. Plus it doubles as a pet hair remover which both the dog and cat love. Since it’s rubber, cleans up nicely for multiple uses. Definitely recommend!!!!
