Not the quickest fix, but definitely effective!
We had the very unfortunate experience of having a housefly get into our trash while we were gone for a couple days. It was a nightmare. We were nearly to the point of calling an exterminator. We decided to give these a shot first. Usually flies will be attracted to windows that get a lot of light. So we placed these stickers on two of our windows. The results weren’t immediate. The first think I noticed was that the flies I would swat would die very easily. Then, it started: Flies started acting drunk. They’d be buzzing against the window, fall to the ground, spin around on the ground for a few seconds, and then die. I’d say it took about 5 days for the full effect, but it was better than having to cover our furniture and set off a bug bomb. If needed, I would use these again.

High expectations... No results.
We live in the country which means for 3 months life is unbearable due to flies. My kids left the backdoor open for a few minutes and there are probably 100+ flies in the house. It's hard to even sit outside! When I saw this product I was so excited! I read the reviews so I was prepared for application and had no problems (white comes off first!)They've been up for 24 hours and I have exactly ZERO dead flies, unless you count the fly strip which caught at least 15. In fact, I haven't seen a fly land anywhere near them! I have both up, each in a window where the flies congregate and it is like they intentionally avoid the decal. Fail.I hate the fly strips but at least they work.ORTHO: Good idea!! Great in theory!! Please make it work...

IT WORKS!
Wow! I'm really really surprised by this product. I was very skeptical prior to buying but every summer we get a swarm of pesky flies in our home that we can't avoid no matter how hard we try. It is a very simple and easy process to slap it on your window. It isn't very thick and from first glance it really isn't noticeable either. But I will say be careful if you have young kids because once they discover it they want everything to do with it, no matter how high and out of reach it is. I have found my 3 year old collecting chairs to climb up to it, so be very careful. At first it seemed like nothing was really happening. I was thinking okay these flies must be too smart because once I slapped it on the ones I had in my home seemed to move to a different room. Well I gave it another day or so and when I went to check them the next time, there was a good 6 of them on the floor that I needed to sweep up all thanks to this little invention. Now I only notice when they land on it because the seem to buzz alot. But this does work very well and I am very impressed! I highly recommend!

Hopeful ... yet mildly frustrated.
My experience. We live smack dab in the middle of seven egg farms so flies are a constant challenge (deep sigh). We've tried fly strips, fluid traps (horrible odor plus poor results = total waste), basil and always have a swatter close at hand. I thought I'd give these a try to supplement all our other efforts.* Like others, I had some difficulty figuring out how to install these gizmos even after carefully reading the instructions twice. Here's what it should say: "IMPORTANT--do NOT remove the clear plastic cover first. Step one: peel off the white backing to expose the adhesive and then affix to the window. Step two: peel off the clear plastic cover to expose the bait." See, that wasn't so hard was it? Ortho ought to send me a check for fixing their instructions.* The white cover on the adhesive side is kind hard to peel away. It took several attempts to pick it away with my finger nail before I was able to get it started. Once started, it came away easily.*The units are fairly small; 4.5" x 4.5" overall (poison pad is about 4' x'4"). I guess I should have realized that but I was surprised by the small size. Given their small size it would be nice it the package contained a couple more units.* The two panes have a perf but the white backing does not and will not tear in two. You need to use scissors to separate them--then need to thoroughly clean the scissors (however, the perf where you cut them is not in the poison zone on the unit).* I put them up a little while ago. Right now I have two flies in the room and both have buzzed around the window where the bait is. I haven't seen either one take the bait ... yet! I remain hopeful.Update Three Weeks Later: I started out hopeful. Unfortunately, my hopes didn't pan out. I did notice a reduction the first couple days. However, in less than a week, the number of flies was back to the same level as before. As I mentioned previously, there are seven egg farms within two miles of me (I'm right in the middle) so flies are a constant issue. We keep the house sealed as much as possible but the critters somehow find a way in. I work out of an office in my home. I swat 10-20 of the little beasties every day. For the first several days I had these decals in place that dropped to 2 or 3; within a week we were back up to 10-20 level again. I suppose it is possible the decals would be more effective in a less densely infested environment.Update two years later: We finally solved our fly problem--we moved!!

Wow, worked in hours!!!
I was away for a month on vacation and some food was left in the trash can. When I got back I noticed a few flies that I thought I could remove easily. Unfortunately there were a few hundred more than I thought. I tried an old electric zapper but the flies have to be near it to work.Since there were so many on my first floor at almost every window, it was taking too long for them to find the zapper and meet their ends....Well that changed in less than 4 hours with this. I only picked it because the description stated the flies would not stick to adhesive with the bait. They would simply eat the stuff and fall to the ground for you to sweep away. And boy did they drop... and fast.I thought at first I did put it up wrong but just left it alone. by lunch time I went down stairs and noticed my zapper wasn't going off as much. When I went into the dining room the floor was covered with the buggers.I need to buy more for next year if this happens again.... I love this stuff.
