Paula's Choice RESIST Brightening Essence | Vitamin C, Arbutin, Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acid | Treatment for Uneven Skin Tone | 1 Ounce

I've been dying to try this serum and bought a bottle this month--when I got it in the mail, I noticed that it was yellow/amber in color and noticeably thicker in consistency than I had expected. I double-checked on the Paula's Choice website and sure enough, these are both signs that the Vitamin C in the serum has been oxidized due to age, making it at best inert and at worst unsafe to use on your skin. Given this and the fact that the price on Amazon is HALF the price on the Paula's Choice website, I wonder if this is a third party selling old/discounted bottles. Might be better off just buying directly from Paula's Choice!

First off, I am 35 years old, my skin is oily and acne prone. I have used retin a for about ten years. I also use glycolic and lactic acids daily. My skin is also very prone to congestion if I use something that is too occlusive. This product has been something that I tried six months ago and cannot go without still today. Within a few weeks of starting this, I had a overall brightness and reduction in dark acne marks. This product did not clog my pores or cause acne. I use this once a day after my toner and serum, and before my sunscreen. The product is light and absorbs quickly, no oily residue at all. This can cause some irritation if your skin is not used to niacinamide. I didn't have any irritation at all, just a tingle occasionally and a nice glow the next day. I will continue to keep this fantastic product in my arsenal to combat dull skin and dark spots without worry of breakouts or clogged pores.

So I bought my first two bottles directly from Paulas choice website. I have been using it a for a while. Really like the product and the texture. One of the reason I started to use this product because it has glucosomine complex, which I haven't been able to find in many products lately. The product is very light, gets absorbed very easily. its slightly moisturising. I am 42 years old, maintain a very healthy life style with a meticulously designed skin care routine, hence there is practically very little sign of ageing on my skin. But my skin is very prone to hyper-pigmentation. So I maintain all sorts of precaution. I think this product marginally making some brightening effect on my skin so will recommend it but I suggest buy it from Paulas choice website.When I saw a lower price here and was super happy but when I got the stuff I found that the essence which is normally a clear water like substance is not really clear rather has yellowish hue. It was also sticky. I threw away the boxes before checking the expiry date so I am not sure if they had already expired or was close to expiration date. I have bought my 5th and 6th bottle from Paulas choice website again and they are fine. So you may buy it , the product is good but dont buy it from here.

I found this to be slippery, heavy, and greasy. I had a few tiny breakouts after using this. It does not layer well with other products at night or makeup during the day. It will cause a ‘pilling’ effect. I finished half the bottle and didn’t notice a difference on my skin. It’s a lot of money to see no results. Also- I wanted this for daytime use so not layering well was a big problem.

Saves me SEVERAL steps in the morning. No need to layer serums as it contains SEVERAL key serums..arbutin..HA..vit c etc. The brightening effect however is not as strong as some of the serums by the ordinary. However i'm very pleased with the ingredients and this did not cause any breakouts or increased irritation to my sensitive skin. Great product for sensitive skin.

I really like this brightening liquid. It has a thin water like consistency that goes right into your skin. I do believe that my 60 year old skin has a more even tone and a brighter look. I have purchased this before and it lasted about 6 months using it twice daily.

This serum gives your skin a healthy glow. It really works and make your skin really smooth! It’s worth the purchase.
