Very disappointed in Amazon and Wiremold
I got it installed, but it took lots of improvising. The item descriptions, like most in Amazon, are piss poor. Deep box? Well how about telling us just how deep it is. That's OK. I'll just order two or three different sizes and return the extra ones at no cost to me. Wiremold's images and videos don't come close to showing all possible conponents nor situations. 500 series and 700 series? But they don't tell you which one you are buying. What incompetence. Use my strategy, just order a bunch of things that you might use then return all the things you don't at their expense. Amazon, wise up.

When you can't snake the wires - use wiremold
This was my husband's second Wiremold project, the first being a straight run of about 6 feet to add a double receptacle in our den. This project was adding a closet light because he didn't have access for snaking the line in the wall and ceiling. He had to use right angle channels, a switch box, fan box, outlet box and raceways. It took him about 4 hours for the whole project. This is not for a beginner DIYer. It takes at minimum a hacksaw, wire pliers, hand drill, pencil, measuring tape, circuit tester and wiring knowledge. There are no screws or wall anchors, so you will have to supply them.

Very Good product, kind of pricey IMO, the required greenie is not supplied
Quality is very good, but prices are high IMO although I believe contractors get discounts on large quantity orders from Electrical supply warehouses (not 100% sure on that one)Knocking off one star because I can't believe Legrand/wiremold is too cheap to the provide the critically needed greenie (cost is a couple cents in bulk for contractors & manufactures). I wonder how many DIY's have rigged up some potentially unsafe grounding alternative (i.e. not used a green grounding screw in extension box) when doing a small job. Knocking off additional star for high cost.---update----Looks like many/most of their items (including the actual V500/700 raceway) are covered under current patents (reference uspto.gov database). I imagine that accounts for the high price.

Solid, paintable, and attractive - just be cautious as some edges can be sharp
Most of the time I prefer to install everything inside the walls, but sometimes it just isn't worth the trouble. I wanted to run power to my TV, which is wall mounted, but the closest outlet was a couple feet to the side. Running the power horizontally through the wall would have required cutting out a chunk of drywall to drill through the studs. With the Wiremold / Legrand metal raceway, I was able to take the existing outlet box, mount a starter box over it, run raceway a couple feet over the wall, and then use another starter box to bring power back into the wall. At that point running a new outlet higher on the wall in the same stud space is relatively straightforward without having to make unnecessary drywall cuts. The Wiremold / Legrand system works well. The metal raceway has a more substantial feel to it than the plastic parts and is still paintable. Be a bit careful though - some of the edges of parts like the mounting plate can be a bit sharp. I walked away from this project with a few nicks. Also, the way the raceway connects to the boxes can require a bit of work to connect. I had to tweak the little tabs a bit with pliers to get them to slide in easier. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to use this again for a similar project. One other minor note: no fault of Wiremold / Legrand, but my raceway box was delivered bent like a boomerang. I ended up returning that to Amazon and just buying a replacement at the local hardware store. Props to FedEx for leaving it that way on the porch - my wife and I both had a good laugh.

Very tight fit
So really this review is for the entire Wiremold 700 system. I purchased quite a few of the products. I was able to install without great difficulty, the biggest issue being the attachment to plaster walls, the issue being all mine not the product. The product is advertised for 12 and 14 gauge and that is where the issue lies. I found fishing 12 gauge wire very difficult, and when trying to wire an outlet with 12 gauge wire, the shallow box was very crowded and even more so when ganging outlets in a row there was almost no room for the 6 wires. Instructions are sparse but if you are experienced with wiring it is not too difficult. Another issue is some of the product is priced very high for the value, or only available in bundles which leave you with surplus parts.

Great product for extending outlets with cutting holes in the wall.
Got this to extend an outlet that is now hidden behind some built in cabinets. I used a low profile extension cord to plug into the old outlet, then cut off the plug part and ran the wire up the back of he new cabinet up to a new book shelf, attaching the three cord wires (two live + ground) to the new outlet screwed to the side of the bookshelf, and yes I waited to plug it in until after it was installed. It was easy to install. First you attach the back plate to the wall with two provided wood screws, then you have to use the two provided screws to attach the white box the outlet goes into to the back plate, Finally you install the outlet just as you would any other outlet. This was an easy addition that didn't require cutting holes in the wall. The only issue I had was with the 3/8" cable clamp I used to hold the wire (I didn't use the raceway cannel connectors) stuck out a bit from the bottom of the box as the knockouts were not quite deep enough to allow the box to lie flush. To fix that issue I installed a few thin spacers behind the back plate.

Comes with ONE fixing plate - and that's it
Does the job, but my order came with just one metal plate to join two lengths together. Since I only needed one length, I had to cobble together a way to fasten the other end down - talk about cheap. There is a hard-to-notice mention on the packaging that you need extras and that it comes with pretty much no fixings, but I guess this is the problem with poor descriptions on Amazon. If you know the product exactly, that's great. But if you are a consumer, you get caught without needed parts.

Nice exterior box.
Works great easy to install and you cannot see it under the cupboards. I painted mine to match.
