These earbuds BEAT the best industry standard professional AND consumer full-sized headphones!

I'm a record producer and audio engineer with 20 years of experience. My go to headphones for most live FOH gigs and occasional studio use are industry standard Sony MDR 7506's or Sennheiser HD280's (which sell for about $100 each)Let me just say, this unassuming little earbud is as good, or better than both of them across nearly all key categories, which for me are; overall sound quality, detail, sound stage, flat response, sensitivity (ease of which they can be driven by a given headphone amp), listening fatigue (or lack thereof), low frequency extension/accuracy, isolation (noise rejection as well as bleed), and overall build quality. These little Beyer buds excel in each of these categories. When compared to my planar magnetic listening cans ($300 and generally regarded as some of the best budget headphones one can buy), they compare very favorably! Low frequency extension is as good or better, they are flat, detailed and have a great sound stage (although not as wide as the planars, which is mostly due to the planars relative boosted highs, which make them far more fatiguing). I would actually much prefer the Beyers for long term (30m+) listening over any of the other options mentioned, simply due to their lack of ear fatigue due to less high frequencies.I DO NOT get the impression they are muted or muffled at all. They remind me of a good "mid forward" studio monitor with an incomprehensible (impossible??) amount of bass extension for such a small package at a low price point (think earbud equivalent of the Equator D5 studio monitor, which currently sits next to my $3k Amphions One18's and holds up extremely well, does things and reveals things the Amphions struggle to.)But I digress. Let me clarify what I mean by "low frequency extension". These do not have gimmicky and undesirable "boosted bass" like most every other consumer earbud/headphone on the market. These have MORE bass, as in the low frequencies actually go LOWER, but stay linear (ie not boosted to make up for lack of low frequency extension). You can think of it as having a sub for your ears as opposed to turning up the bass EQ for crappy little speakers that can't handle real bass. This results in clarity in the lows, ability to hear thumping kick drums, tight, rumbling bass and synth and trunk rattling frequencies of hip-hop and rap.Other earbuds/cans with gimmicky boosted bass end up sounding flabby and woofy in the bass, which also impacts clarity of the mix, sound stage and overall sound quality.Isolation is amazing too! About as good as my planar magnetics with huge thick pads!Easily driven to LOUD volumes with my smartphone.Fit is great, never any issues with them sealing or falling out of my ears, even at the gym. Quality is okay (I'd say good for the price) but not stellar. The buds themselves are great but the cable leaves a bit to be desired. Sticky rubbery feel, thin and tangly (us that a word?) with bad noise transmission. Lower noise, tangle free cables would make this a perfect product with no flaws whatsoever IMHO. But at this price point, something's gotta give, and I'd rather have it be the cable than anything having to do with sound quality.Overall, this earbuds (yes, EARBUD) in most cases beats some of the best, industry standard professional AND consumer full-sized headphones costing 3-7 times as much $$$. Extremely impressive Beyer!! You can bet I'll be buying more of these with 1/4" adapters for easily packable FOH, ENG and field work!

Worth it but not perfect

If I could five these a 4.5, I think that would be more fair, but unfortunately there is no option for that. The sound quality is great as many people here and elsewhere have said. The sound is clear and balanced with a good bass response. These aren't the bassiest in ears I have ever used, but they're not really made or marketed as that. Rest assured though, they are tuned to a consumer friendly profile with highs that are slightly reined in and bass that is given some room. They also have a kind of spacial quality that is kind of surprising to find. Much less claustrophobic than some in ears feel.My few complaints mostly have to do with everything other than the earphones themselves. Mainly in some aspects of the build quality and the ear tips. I am confused as to why the earphones are finished with the silver material that they are finished with. It looks kind of like plastic and picks up microscratches very easily. I thought there was a layer of plastic over it or something, but that was just the material itself. It might be metal, but either way it doesn't really have the kind of resiliency to wear and tear that you would want. The fit of the earphones works but the eartips and the fit are not ideal. They only give you 3 sizes, which is okay but not ideal. For 50 dollars they could have thrown in 4 tiers at least. The eartips are also not of the highest quality; a far cry from sony hybrid eartips or something of similar quality. They isolate fine, but are not so great. In addition, because of how these eartips fit it your ears, they have a tendency to pop out when you lay down or move around. This is worse than what you would encounter on most other in ear headphones. You could of course select a larger eartip size to compensate, but this doesn't really help much and is kind of uncomfortable. If they gave 1 more size option or something this perhaps would not have been as big as an issue. For 50 dollars, I expect high quality earphones with slightly more budget build quality and accessories than what you would get for the 99 dollars price point. In this sense, they are exactly what they seem to be and what you would expect. I have some qualms about them, but they are worth the money if you don't already have earphones at the higher price tiers. If you want something cheap for everyday use, I would look cheaper than this.

Just go for it, seriously.

First off let me say I love these headphones, they have it all. Phenomenal sound, some of the best earbuds I've ever owned. Admittedly I am a bit of a bass head but they seem incredibly balanced and extremely fun to listen to. I used to own the Beyerdynamic MMX 101 IE's and fell in love with them so I decided to order these, the MMX 102 IE's, and the Shure SE 215's because they were all ones I wanted to try. Oddly enough the MMX's 102 IE's were louder at the same level on my phone compared to the Byrons (doesn't make much sense since they are essentially identical) and the worst... When I twisted the headphone jack on the MMX 102 it gave a lot of feedback, the Byron was flawless.Pros:Half the price of the Shure's for better sound (in my opinion)Very lightweight so more comfortable to wear for extended periods of tiemIncredible bass (they are rated 10-23,000Hz vs SE 215's 22-17,500Hz) so actually has a better range overallGood quality volume control buttonHeadphone jack better quality than the MMX 102 iEL shaped connectors seem to have less issues with wear and tearHeadphone controls work with my IPhone 6s even though it says for androidCons:Cord seems somewhat flimsy so don't know how long these will lastWish the cord was made with a less sticky rubber so it didn't tangle as much (cord on Shure 215's much sturdier)After discovering Beyerdynamic I will probably never go back as long as they keep making quality sounding products. Their sturdiness and longevity could be better, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice the comfort either because I barely notice these earbuds when I'm wearing them which I love. So glad I got these, amazing buy for the value.

Was looking for a not-too-expensive good-sounding pair for work.Tried over-ears, but they were leaking too much (even closed-design), although Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm are incredible (not as incredible as DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm, but at least they leak less and sound almost like them). Disliked the absolute lack of spaciousness, extreme bass and receded mids on the Audiotechnika M50x (reminded me of the Beats), and Soundmagic HP151 were pretty good, but the bass was rather soft, didn't present/punch at certain frequencies.Out of earbuds, tried Byron Wired, Symphonized NRG 3.0 and Soundmagic E11. Symphonized are very bassy, good soundstage, not too wide, but just a bit too bassy for my taste. Soundmagic were underwhelming. The Byron Wired: I expected to like these much more than the others anyway. Beyerdynamic just have amazing consistency from product to product (i.e. sound signature is extremely similar through the whole range of models). Great soundstage and bass for such tiny earbuds. Spacious sound, very accurate reproduction through the whole range. The bass is juicy, but not overbearing and has a very consistent range (you hear parts not hearable through others). Pretty flat through lows/mids/highs, meaning that none of the segments are overemphasized. Of course, since this is an earbud, listening to lower bitrate tracks won't make you cringe (like it would with the DT 990 Pro). Would love if the cord and the connector were thicker. Have to be careful with them. Not sure if an earbud can be better sound quality-wise, especially for this price.

Probando - Post Burn

Amazing earphone from a reputed company. Openly recommended :D

Please take your time to read through my review for this an honest and unbiased feedback based on regular and casual use by a college student.First of all, sound quality is among the best you can get in a consumer grade earphone. I've owned many earphones ranging from 500 - 5000. I would say that this is among the top in terms of sound stage and quality while being in middle in terms of price. Sound is neutral and full with clarity in the lows, mids and highs.Build quality is on the up and up, reasonably well done and clean. Maintains a decent and plain look, nothing fancy but fine for most.Fit is subjective but this has been the best fitting in-ear for me. Going deep and snug into my canal, stays there even during intense workouts. This brings me to some of it's extra high points, since it fits well the passive noise cancelling is excellent. The earphone comes with an in-line remote cum mic with 3 buttons. Talking about mic, it is another important part of the earphone and it does not disappoint. I've played a lot of PUBG Mobile with it and my teammates never complained of mic issues even once.Lastly I would like to comment on beyerdynamic support in India, my earphones malfunctioned just after 6 months. To be more clear, the left side of the earphone stopped working and it left a sour feeling for me. Since the earphone was covered under a 2 year warranty I decided to contact beyerdynamic India, and boy was I handled with importance. I sent a mail to them and with in hour I was asked to post the earphone to their Bangalore offices for further inspection. Within a day of it reaching them, they sent a mail saying they would hook me up with a replacement as soon as new stocks arrived from Germany. All in all, I would say that this is a solid earphone from a reputed company and can openly recommend it to a friend.Sorry for the long review but I'm sure that this would be enough for anyone to make a purchase decision. Thanks for going through it :DD
