Works for what it is.
Wish it was a little bigger but it is well made.

Good for organization
In my "Don't leave home without it" pack, I had batteries all over, with the GPS, flashlight, etc. Now everything is in one waterproof pocket. It makes finding your batteries easy.

So simple but handy
This is such a basic product, but it's made a huge difference in organizing my gear. I travel in a lot of off-the-grid Third World locations, so I usually carry at least 20 AA batteries for a Sony flash in case I can't plug in. These little packets keep things tidy and make it easier to keep track of which batteries are charged or spent (I number them). Plus, it looks better in front of a client than a bunch of batteries with rubber bands around them. It will also perfectly fit three 18650 batteries. This is handy for me because I carry an emergency LED light in my travels. It will also carry 12 AAA batteries. Two cons: as has been mentioned in other reviews, they are a little pricey. They probably get them produced for pennies each in Viet Nam, so they're making out like a bandit. $5-$6 would be better than nearly $10. Also, if you have a couple of them, full of batteries and lined up in your camera bag when you go through airport security, you can pretty much count on hearing the words "Is this your bag, sir?" My manual inspections have definitely increased since I bought this product. I guess these little bundles create a suspicious profile on X-rays. Nonetheless, I buy more of these every time that I order more re-chargeable batteries. I also have the ones that they make for DSLR batteries. Think Tank's little battery holders really make batteries much more accessible and organized. If they made them for the big Sony NP-F770 batteries for video cameras, I'd buy those too.For such a simple thing, you'll wonder how you got along without them before.

If you know what it's for... it's practically perfect.
It does its job perfectly. Its job is to hold either 4 or 8 AA batteries. Not 2, or 5, or 6... or any other number. 4 or 8. And preferably in sets of 4, not sets of 2. Why? Because both sets are new, or one set is dead, or both sets are dead. And why does this make perfect sense? Because all large camera flashes I own and have owned, take AA batteries in sets of 4. And this is an accessory by Think Tank, who make some of the most amazing, well thought out accessories for photographers. Not for flashlight enthusiasts, or pocket radio users. Photographers - who are frequently under stress, time constraints, crappy weather... and organization is key. I can't believe how much I like this silly little pouch. It was worth every penny. Why four stars then? What would make it even better? For me, a strip of the hard-side of velcro on the back, with a flap or chunk of soft-side to cover it, so you could optionally stick it to the interior walls of camera bags and it would stay right where you put it. But I guess could sew that on in a few minutes if I really want it that badly.

Not as cool as one would think.
I thought it would be a great way to manage my AA batteries for my flashes but itโs not. Because the pouch does not have any kind of retention for the batteries they can easily get jumbled up. Itโs not an easy one handed process to replace the batteries in a flash while using this pouch. I placed my batteries upside down when they are finish so I can tell the difference between fresh and used batteries. Itโs a little cumbersome to do that with this style of couch. Had they sewn fabric tubes to retain each battery, this would be a substantially better product.Side note. I also have the pouch they make for DSLR batteries and those work great. But those are one battery per slot.

With as well built as Think Tank has made this holder, I can't imagine I will ever wear it out.
First let me start out by saying that I do not use this for its intended purpose (sort of). I still use it to carry batteries, just not AAs. Instead I carry twoย NP-95 batteries ย for my Fuji X100t and it fits them perfectly. Since the batteries have exposed contacts I was never happy just leaving them loose in my pocket or camera bag for fear of shorting them out. This battery holder does a great job of keeping the contacts safe and the batteries together. With as well built as Think Tank has made this holder, I can't imagine I will ever wear it out. The only reason I would get another is to carry more batteries. As an aside, with as well as it works for me I don't see how it would not be just as great for carrying AAs.

Used for Olympus OMD EM-1 mkII
I'm actually using this to hold one, and possibly two, batteries for an Olympus OMD EM-1 MkII. It will hold one with a 4-pack of AA's extremely well. Two and it will not close, but just bring a wide rubber band like you get with asparagus stalks. I use a smaller version of the same Think Tank designed case to hold two OMD EM-1 MkI batteries. Being open on the side it is in no way waterproof and barely water resistant.

Nice item but...
I ordered these having already got a very neat ThinkTank CF card and battery holder (I ordered that to make up an order elsewhere to get to a carriage-free level, I like it). This is a neat little item, I've just received two of them, I think they will work well. But the problem is I think the price, I think these will cost very little to manufacture in Vietnam, so I just cannot see where the price comes from. My impression is that someone chose a price, doubled it and then doubled it again. If I need more storage I think I will try Ansmann cases from Radio Spares.

Not great - unusual for ThinkTank
Honestly not as practical as I'd expect for something from ThinkTank. I've got several of their cases which are brilliantly thought out and even their smaller accessory bags are brilliant. But these just seem a bit poorly thought out. If you're on a shoot you're usually against the clock so you want your kit to work with you - not cause problems. There are no borders in the two battery holder sections to keep the batteries in place so when you remove a single battery the other three are loose and flop around. If you're putting your batteries in upside down after they're spent it can become confusing which are empty and which are full. I've seen some solid plastic ones (potentially Powerpax or something from memory?) which seem a better idea but without trying i can't confirm.

It's Thinktank tough
If you have not used Thinktank products before then you don't know - if you have then you do - does the job and strong.

Generally works fine, but disappointed that there is only a single ...
As others have said, grossly overpriced I feel. Generally works fine, but disappointed that there is only a single 'pouch' for each set of four batteries. Means it only really works if you have a full set in there. Any less tend to rattle around.

Perfect for x2 Fuji NP W126S batteries.
Excellent quality. Although designed for x8 AA batteries, this is a perfect size for x2 NP W126S Fuji batteries. Highly recommend this product.
