Propet Men's Commuterlite Walking Shoe

I purchased several pair of the old design over 2016 They were comfortable, stable, and would last me about three months before needing replacement. The old design was great.My most recent purchase was in February 2017, but the design has changed. The heel is much more narrow and much less stable—I have rolled my ankle three times in the new design, two of those caused nasty falls. The new design only lasted six weeks before being too uncomfortable to wear.Bring back the old design.

======WARNING WARNING WARNING==========These are not the same shoe as shown in the photos. These shoes ( which have exactly the same model number) are a cheaper copy.They have a completley different sole shape and composition. The heel is only 3 inches wide vs 3.5 inches ( size 9 EEE). Likewise across the ball of the foot it is almost 1/2 an inch narrower in the sole. These changes make the shoe less stable. The upper is stiffer, the internal padding has been reduced ( the original has padding up to the toe, the new version does not seem to have any toe padding at all). The internal padding material is of much lower quality with a coarse more open weave, so wear life time might be compromised. The foot bed is of different construction. On the plus side it has a removable foot bed layer to make room for custom orthotics.I will happily buy more of the original, but this new style is going to be returned. If you know of a supply of the original style please let me know as I am a buyer.

Beware if you are familiar with this shoe and looking to reorder. I've been wearing this exact shoe, in the same size (11 3E) for several years now. It was time to get some new shoes so I looked up my old order in 2016 and reordered it. When it arrived I was a bit put off because the shoe did not look the same. But no matter, I tried one on, and crap it was way too tight. I checked the size tag and it was 11 3E, but it did not feel like it. I then compared the sole of my current shoe with this new one and sure enough the new shoe was 1/2 inch narrower at the wide part of the foot. I then rechecked both my current shoes size tag and the new one and they both say 11 3E, but my old shoe is markedly roomier than the new one. The shoe may still be good, but the incredible idiocy it takes to resize and an existing shoe is just beyond words. Which is why the 2 stars

Shoe design has totally changed. Shape of toe area is much more rounded effecting the fit. Stitching is now white effecting the look and the leather is hard,not soft like it use to be. Why call it commuterlite when it's a totally different shoe? Why change an exceptionally well made shoe? Didn't need to be changed. They were perfect as they were. Bring back the originals please!

I have been wearing these full time for about a month. I bought these to replace the ultra-comfortable ASICS Gel-Foundation Workplace shoe that, in a fit of corporate insanity, ASICS discontinued. The Propet Commuterlite Walking Shoe is not quite as comfortable as the Workplace, but close enough that I can walk two miles with my sensitive feet and not feel discomfort. I don't believe the shoe has any gel in it, but the thick dense-foam insole seems to cushion well. The leather uppers are of much higher quality than the ASICS shoe, and the overall appearance is a full grade higher. The Propet leather uppers keep their new appearance much better than the Workplace. The shoe is lighter and less bulky than the ASICS Workplace shoe. By the way, the Commuterlite does NOT have that upturned rubber bumper at the toe as shown in the photo. It looks nicer without it. I WISH PROPET WOULD MAKE A VERSION WITH A GEL CUSHION (that's me 'yelling' at Propet) -- which would make it superior in comfort AND style to the Workplace shoe. For people susceptible to foot pain, the added cost ($10?) for gel in the heel and sole is utterly irrelevant.

These only lasted a little under a year before they were worn out. I’m disappointed because I would have expected them to last longer. I work at a desk all day so there’s not a lot of walking involved, basically to and from my car, to and from the house, to and from the coffee break room. I don’t mind shoes wearing out but I feel that the amount of money you spend should be in direct proportion to how long they last. So, for 1 year I would expect to spend about $35 dollars, instead I paid over $80 and to me that translates to at least a 2 year shoe. So, with all that said I’m giving 2 stars.

For years I've been looking for size 10 shoes that were adequately wide. I'd either get cheap shoes that fit well enough but fell apart within a week or two, or I'd get well made brand name shoes that were just a bit too tight. It doesn't help that my right foot is slightly thicker than the left.I got a pair of black Propet hiking boots in the 10 5E width, and they were perfect. So I bought these walking shoes as well, and they're just right for everyday use. I've now ordered second pairs of the boots and the shoes in brown. I don't want to be without shoes that fit this well again.The original boots and shoes have now shown their quality for a couple of months. My feet have recovered from my previous main pair of shoes, another well known brand, well made, but just a bit too tight even in their widest version. The overall quality for price of the Propets is not absolutely exceptional, but it's quite good, and I'm giving them a personal five stars for being just what I needed. I only wish I'd discovered this brand years ago.

Different soles than in pic. Not as comfortable as the soles in pic that I had purchased before not on Amazon.

The product is great, the price becomes a bit inflated ,with exchange, duty etc.
