Seems like a beta version of the book
Rushed to market and it shows. Lots of errors in the print version I received. Seems like a beta version of the book. Not to mention it is the size of a phonebook. I have to think that was a formatting mistake given all the other issues with the book.

The Top Book On Angular 2
I'm mostly through it now and it is one of the best tech books I've read over the past 35 years. Clear and concise writing with very few typos. The teaching style is to expose the reader to concepts first and explain them a little later. I've found through my decades of teaching various skills that layering up knowledge this way is the most effective. It is more like on-the-job-training which is far more effective than academic study. It is the top book recommended on Reddit Angular 2 developer group.

Bad book, bad business model, unhappy customer
Bought the book through GumRoad as an early adopter, ready to learn about the new framework. I had quality concerns initially and provided feedback and suggestions to help them produce a superior product, like, I don't know, writing down a script for the accompanied screencast instead of poorly fumbling through it. Clearly they never listened as the screencast is still awful. A little less than a year later, I checked in to see what updates had been made and found that they prematurely cut updates for early adopters for some reason! The Angular project did a "major version" update from 2->4 which is largely semantic and by all means, ng-book 2 should cover that content. It seems like they used the arbitrary versioning (which the Angular team explains here: angularjs.blogspot.com/2016/12/ok-let-me-explain-its-going-to-be.html ) change as some kind of cash-grab breakpoint. Nobody is going to deploy Angular version 2 to production, at least not with this book. Like the others have said, it never made it out of beta and now they're jumping on to the next major version as if it's a totally new product. It's ridiculous. If they want to do version-based books, that's fine - but they never even finished this product, they just stopped working on it.FYI the book is available on Github as a PDF for free, google for it to see if you like the quality before you waste your money on this steaming pile.

Disrespecting their customers
Bought this book very very early, pre-beta, you can say. I accepted all of it's flaws and re-did code samples in my projects whenever it was revised. I had the patience to do difgrams between versions to see what changed exactly.Sometimes whole code samples would vanish in newer versions of the beta book and would just contain an error message. After putting up with all of that and still very much a beta book I couldn't download new versions after a year suddenly and had to pay full price again.

Not worth it
Not so well written, few errors. I find it very difficult to get the updated version. they have no link where I can simply login and download the latest version. They have changed their version # and want me to repay for the never version. I will be better with googling and other sites offer similar courses for free.

This is the worst book on Web design I have ever read
This is the worst book on Web design I have ever read. Took me two hours to get a pile of errors on the Hello World app.If you are a beginner don't buy this book.

It's a great book, even though some chapters get too long ...
I bought this book because it was the most up to date that there was in December 2016.It's a great book, even though some chapters get too long and some concepts are explained out of context. Other books seems to be more tutorial oriented and this one explains the concepts in a more disconnected way. Apart from that I think it's a great book that will serve well as reference in the future as it explains a lot of concepts. There is one thing to be aware and I didn't expect. The book is just printed A4, so the size is very big. That makes it extremely inconvenient to bring it with you to a coffee shop or a library. This book will be always at home. To be A4 paper i think this book is a bit expensive.Overall a great book. I don't regret.

Perfect Ng2 companion
Great book! I've already written a detailed review on another website which I unfortunately can't link to here, so I will just summarise here. Long story short, I would certainly recommend both Angular2 and a digital or physical copy of this book to anyone interested in learning modern front-end development. Angular2 is awesome and this book is a one-stop-shop for your Ng2 needs. Whether you use it as a reference or as a front-to-back read, it's a pleasure to work with. Very thorough and pretty much no detail is left unexplained. I would say that it's perfect for beginner and intermediate users.I have both the physical and digital version and my only complaint about the physical edition would be that the print itself is not very high quality for the price. It's not bad, but it's definitely not a glossy, shiny university biology book or something like that.

Livre Angular 2

ung-book2
Did they forget to run this past an editor or a proof reader? There are typesetting gaffs where the actual typesetting codes are printed rather then the text to set.The book is three plus centimeters (one and a half inches) thick and has no chance of laying open. There are code examples that do not compile.

Complete overview for beginners
Coming from AngularJS it really helped me to understand the concepts and best practices of Angular. You also get a grasp of TypeScript. Eventually we bought two and lend it also to our colleagues which were also happy. Of course it has some issues here and there, but hey, Angular is also very rapidly changing.

Unfinished book
The book never was revised. You can find places where you have an exclamation mark because the image was not found when the book was edited. Some code examples provided in the book are not working because the code is incomplete...

nice big typeface in case you are new to reading
Well it arrived, the definitive book, first impression, lots of typos obviously not proofed, oversized again evidence no one wanted to spend the money formatting it, nice big typeface in case you are new to reading. Will write more once I start reading it properly. Let's hope the Angular 2 developers have created a better product in #angular 2 itself,
