Q: Can the connections be reversed one at a time? For example, 8 female and 4 male on the front.

Yes, each port is a small independent unit consisting of the male jack, short wires, and a female jack. There is not enough wire between the male and female jacks to move to distinctly different ports (providing some kind of crossover, or shift), but each pre-wired port unit will easily swap to the exact opposite side with just a small screwdriver.

Q: How deep is this unit? I find the 1" cube size in the description hard to beleive.

I didn't measure exactly but I am pretty confident it's less than 5 inches deep not accounting for the space needed to allow for xlr cables to be connected to the inside/rear. I mounted this in an skb case on the rear to allow easy patching of audio xlr input and outputs from processing gear for easy access and save wear to audio components mounted in the front of the skb case.

Q: Does this pass through phantom power?

Yes. Our sound system in church has phantom power and my mic works just fine.
