Put one on every 10/22!
Excellent replacement for the stock barrel band, even if you don't attach anything to it. It's very heavy duty and fits snugly and securely. Product will make your 10/22 look a lot cooler and give you far more options. I attach a bipod on the bottom, although because it has 2 positioning grooves and the bipod only has one bolt for mounting it either sits too far forward or backward, but not so much for it to be an issue as far as it staying on there goes. I would prefer the single groove rail on the bottom, and the double on the side, but again, minor annoyance. 5 stars because of durability and ruggedness. It WILL rub some of the blueing off on top of your barrel so be warned, maybe you could glue a piece of thin felt to the top inside of this barrel band to reduce abrasion.

Superb All Around
Price was a bit high, but I'd probably pay double that still to get that stupid plastic Barrel Band off my Takedown. This works fantastic, is sturdy as all get out, allows for sling mount, still fits inside of 10/22 Takedown bag, and allows for various aids (bipod, laser, light, what have you). No brainer to install and if you hit someone with it, you're sure to draw blood. Way more than I bargined for and I'm so pleased I went with this set-up.

Works great for my flashlight mount.
I used this with the BARSKA Picatinny Offset Riflescope Ring, 30-mm and wrote a review there. This Barrel Band fit my Ruger 10/22 takedown perfectly. Some people have complained that the bottom does not sit exactly level after it is tightened... this is because the split of the clamp is at the bottom and off to one side, and when it is tightened it cocks the bottom rail slightly to one side. SO, don't buy this if you are using a bipod mount that NEEDS the bottom rail to be PERFECTLY level. For me it worked great for my flashlight mount. It installed easy and the fit/finish was nice and I like that it is not plastic. A cheaper alternative would be just to screw a small rail section right to the stock, but this is more convenient.

Great accessory for the Ruger 10/20 TD
The 10/20 Takedown as it comes from the factory does not have a swivel stud that can be used as a sling mount or to attach a bi-pod.But that's where this tactical barrel band comes in. Quick & easy to install, it provides a mount for a sling, a light or laser and a bi-pod.Made from metal (not cheap plastic), it fits the 10/20 TD nice and tight. I would consider it a "must have" accessory. Not sure how it fits other Ruger stocks for the 10/22 or different barrels (e.g. bull barrel) though.

I installed on the Underfold Stocks Black Polymer
I love this, I installed on the Underfold Stocks Black Polymer with BLACK Aluminum Anodized Arms for Ruger 10/22 Take Down Rifle [ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ES2DUEO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 ] in minutes.FYI, attempted to use: 1 inch Picatinni Picatinny Offset Flashlight Ring Mount with QD Cam LockThe square bolt that's supposed to fit in the groove of the Picatinny rail was too wide, I'll have to grind the bolt down ) :This is in no way ProMag's problem, rather it's a problem with the light ring mount.Wouldn't fit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BC56IB2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Not Without its Issues
I purchased this primarily so I could attach a grip or a bipod to it. I can do those without problem, so that is not why I give this product three stars. The pros are that it is definitely a durable product and that there truly is nothing like this in the aftermarket. Its originality is hard to match. I have two problems that heavily reduce this from being a top of the line product. The first is that the bottom rail is too small. I have a hard time keeping a bipod/grip well attached sometimes because the rail attachment is larger than the rail itself. My other issue is that it never fully tightens, which can be a huge issue. If I tighten the screw all the way, it damages the polymer stock, which I bit the bullet and went through with anyway. Even despite that, it never managed to grip onto the stock completely. It has a lot of play despite what I've done to prevent this, even with the screw tighten so far that I am surprised that I did not strip it. If there was another product with this concept, I would option trying it, but this seems to be the only one, and it does its job. I just wish those compromises did not exist.

perfect accesory for the Ruger
I had bought a 10/22 for my young daughters to start target shooting with. i also ordered a bi-pod to help them steady the front of the gun on a table so they could focus on the sights and other aspects of shooting without having to worry about holding the gun up and keeping it steady. This little jewel fit the gun perfectly and the bipod mounted right up. unlike some of the other ones i looked at this one is made of aluminum.....not plastic. Worth the extra money to get one that is much better quality.

Beautiful device. Love it
Beautiful device. Love it. Love the fit and finish, a lovely hunk of metal to be sure. But the ProMag Ruger 10/22 Carbine Tactical Barrel Band I bought does not work well with the Fenix Picatinny Rail Tactical Flashlight Ring ALG-01. The Fenix Picatinny Rail Tactical Flashlight Ring is almost 50% longer than the ProMag Ruger 10/22 Carbine Tactical Barrel Band, and so it cannot be secured at both front and rear. I works nicely with the ARMSTAC® aluminium foldable adjustabletactical bipod OP-I though.

Great upgrade.
Product is very secure. A great replacement for the standard barrel band. I currently have a front bipod, three point sling and a tactical torch attached to it and it works great.Very easy to fit takes about 30 seconds.
