Charlie Is Broken! (Charlie and Lola)

Poor Charlie has broken his arm...and his spirit. Sweet little sis Lola must cheer and nurse him along back to health, all in classic Lola fashion. Sweet read and fun for the Charlie and Lola fan. My kiddos love reading, although Daddy gets scolded for not reading in a British dialect, lol.

It was a great book for introducing bones and how to care for them.

Great to talk about injuries without getting into the particulars. Good to see that you can still do some things, and you can still smile, while having broken bones.

My grandson broke his arm and I got this book for him and he read it so many times he loved it!

My 6 year old fractured her arm and this book gave her a better understanding of the situation. She loves reading and really enjoyed this book.

My 20 month old grandson broke his leg ... I was there and, yes, I really did nearly die of fright! Charlie and Lola tackle this subject in the same no-nonsense way they cope with all the other incidents featured in the book (and TV) series.At such a tender age, my grandson had not had any opportunity of seeing anything like what had happened to him, so I started to look for a book suitable for his age, that would help him to understand - and to know that he wasn't the only one to have suffered such an accident. I found this title on Amazon relatively quickly, but Charlie suffers a broken arm and I was looking for a story featuring a broken leg, so I decided to search on. I don't know how many book-selling sites I browsed, but it was many, and I couldn't find anything! *Children's authors: get on it!*So I went back for this one, and I'm very happy that I did. Grandson knows Charlie and Lola from TV, so was comfortable with the characters. We managed to get him to understand that a broken arm is much the same as a broken leg, and in the end he felt quite excited that he had, "Same as Charlie"!This is a lovely book - and why wait for a child's broken limb before buying it?!
