A Very Affordable and Well Working Phone for Use With Your TracFone Service
I'm not a big mobile phone user and spend less than $100 a year (yes - a year) for my phone's voice and data service and found this LG Rebel phone fully meets my requirements. Good screen size, always a quick and easy 4G LTE connection, even in areas where my wife iPhone has lousy connection, and excellent sound during voice conversations. What more could you ask for? Oh, yea - a cheap price and for what you get, this phone is an excellent buy. This is actually my second LG Rebel having the first one run over by a car, so no it won't hold up to that kind of abuse, but as long as you don't drop it in a roadway, you should get years of service from it. At the price, a new LG Rebel was the only cost effective replacement for my mangled LG Rebel. BTW, after being run over, the phone actually still worked, just had a smashed screen (that still worked) and a smashed case.

Only if you have no other options for cellular service
Activation: It was a little tricky but I managed to activate it after a few reboots and finally pulling the battery to accomplish a true reset. Once activated, the minutes, text and data allowances of this particular package all appeared on my account.Service: Voice, data and texting seem pretty reliable and I haven't encountered any zones without service, even out in the sticks. Voice quality is very good and 4G data speeds are on par with the major carriers.Phone: The LG Rebel phone is pretty no-frills. It's small, all plastic, lightweight and very easy to carry. The 854 x 480 screen is okay but a little washed out looking compared to higher end phones. It's not high-res but is decently sharp. It can be a pain with some web pages however because the low resolution can force a lot of scrolling. The included apps are very basic as well as the camera. The camera is roughly what you'd find on a 2010-2011 smartphone. Battery life is great and a charge easily lasts 2-3 days based on usage.Plans: Out of all the pre-paid plans I checked, TracFone was one of the friendliest and most flexible as far as price and time allowed to use purchased service.Customer Support: The SIM card in this phone went bad roughly one week after purchase. It happened while I was out on the road, so I was left stranded with no phone and no way to contact anyone for an entire day. I called Tracfone support later that evening but they were unable to resolve the issue over the phone. The only solution was to mail me a new SIM card. I was advised it would take 2-3 business days. I received the new SIM card exactly 3 business days later which, including the weekend, amounted to nearly seven days without service. I called Tracfone to get credited for the missed days because I have a limited timeframe for usage and didn't want to lose seven days. They credited me with six days. I would have fought harder for the seventh day had not the first rep left me on hold for nearly twenty minutes before kicking me back into the main queue all over again. By the time I was credited the six days, I had already spent nearly forty minutes on the call and just wanted to be done with it. Also, all support is very obviously outsourced overseas, so don't expect U.S. based support when you call.Overall Opinion: I purchased this phone for business use so I wouldn't have to share my personal mobile number with clients. I didn't want a continuous bill like many pre-paid plans require due to the seasonal nature of my work. I like Tracfone's flexible plans and refill options. I only pay for precisely what I need and only purchase a plan when I need one. However, reliability, service and the overall experience has been very disappointing so far. I've never personally experienced nor heard of a SIM card going bad prior to acquiring this phone. After missing a very important business call, the caller quite justifiably seemed a little skeptical of my story when I later advised him why I missed the call. I actually attached a photo of the phone displaying the invalid SIM message and sitting next to the tech support letter that accompanied the new SIM card just so he'd know I wasn't being untruthful. If service were a little better and had I not encountered that SIM issue, I'd likely rate this four stars based on all the other aspects. However, an unreliable phone is almost as bad as no phone. If another SIM card goes bad or I experience some other weird issue, I'm moving on to a new phone and carrier.

Excellent phone and service deal...
Awesome deal. This is my 3rd TracFone, each one's been an upgrade. Best deal/phone so far. With the airtime bundle the phone's essentially free. The device is fast and responsive on the touch screen. The 4G LTE is crisp and clear on cell phone calls. Downloads, streams and Bluetooth connections are quick. Android 5.0 has very good features. The 8GB internal memory is limiting on what apps you can install - but that just makes you selective on what you really need. The phone is a bit light and the plastic back plate didn't provide a good hand grip. Big "dropping" concern. Fixed that by ordering a protective case with a silicone coating and some grip features. Perfect now. TracFone's great - I guess if you're a hyper cell phone junkie constantly monitoring/updating your socials and yattering incessantly on the phone, it might not be for you. But for one who just needs to take/make a routine number of calls, send/receive a few texts everyday, monitor email, check some news and stream a bit of audio/music it's perfect... I haven't had a monthly cellphone bill in 5-years and couldn't be happier... (Cut the cable on the TV and went VOIP on the landline also but that's another story...)

Free airtime was sketchy but eventually worked
Bought this for my husband because his Virgin/Sprint service went down in our area and he needed something to use after being without service for a month. Anyways, overall it seems like a good solid phone with all of the basic features of a smartphone. He likes it because it isn't too big to fit in his pocket, yet the screen size is still decent. When I went to activate it, it was easy to do online except I wasn't immediately given the free airtime package that was supposed to be included. It said it was active and the phone number was assigned but when I made calls it just told me I needed to purchase airtime. Customer service was closed and I really did not feel like dealing with it after the hours we spent on the phone with his last company... so I just bought a new plan. Once that was loaded the original free plan was also loaded at the same time incidentally and since it all rolls over anyways I am not worried about it. Anyways this phone is good for someone who just wants a basic phone, at a low cost, and still have most of the bells and whistles of a smartphone. Seems he can get all the apps. The connection itself is good and calls are clear. He will probably upgrade his phone at some point but this is a good replacement or starter phone if you just need something that works and is cheap.

I am guessing I could send it back but with it being such a great deal I am mailing it to my sister so ...
1 STAR = Went to transfer my phone number and minutes from my old phone TracFone to this new one when I found out that this TracFone runs on different cell towers then my old one so it won't work for me in South Central Alaska. Not sure why TracFone A runs on different towers then TracFone B. HUGE BUMMER for me! I am guessing I could send it back but with it being such a great deal I am mailing it to my sister so she can upgrade her old phone.5 STAR = Such a great deal and a great phone! Easy to navigate.
