Irish Shopper Turf Peat Incense Ceramic Cottage Gift Boxed Irish Ireland

Simply adorable and the only burner and incense I use now. Its the earthy, woodsy and natural scent I've been searching for but hadn't found until now. You get a lot for the price with 12 little bricks of peat that lasts me over an hour using just one while it wonderfully permeates my home! I intend getting the pub also.... I love 🩵 my quaint cozy little Irish cottage while enjoying the real natural scent of the peat/ turf. THANK YOU for this beautiful nostalgic item which gives me much so much pleasure and comfort.

This is amazing and it makes the house smell so good!! I’m a huge fan of peat and how it makes the house feel all warm and cozy. I feel like if I look out my window I’m going to see green pastures with some sheep grazing in the distance.

Peat must be old - it won't stay lit. Love the cottage itself. Will buy some other peat for it and hope for better results. The ceramic cottage looks great - very pleased with it and the small stone. This was a gift for myself; I had wanted it for years. (BTW, I waited so long to buy it because I thought it was expensive for what it is. I saw it in a souvenir shop in Ireland in few months ago, and it wasn't any cheaper.)

I was excited to get this but when I opened it I couldn’t believe how small the little house was it was teeny tiny, not worth the money. And then I went to try and light the Peet, And could not get it to light, just got frustrated and put it away. Don’t waste your money

I decided to get this for myself as a treat, and I’m so glad I did! It’s well made, smells great, and I really like the aesthetic of the box. The ceramic cottage is a nice size (3 and 3/4 inches wide). I had no trouble lighting the turf. I just held the corner of one of the turf blocks above the tip of a flame from a lighter and waited a few seconds. You’re not trying to create a flame - just get it smouldering a bit and it will keep going. I expect one square to last a while because I left it burning for 10 minutes or so and only a little corner turned grey (I extinguished it by putting a glass over it, thus depriving it of oxygen). I haven’t been to Ireland, and didn’t know what this would smell like, but I find it very comforting and it lifted my spirits, and inspires me even more to go there some day. This will be especially nice in the winter since I don’t have a fireplace and now will still be able to smell something toasty.

I bought this as a small Christmas present for my spouse, who is a "first generation" Irish American. The cottage has an open bottom and the air circulation is provided by an arched hole in the back with the smoke rising through the chimney. Small pieces of the turf (smaller than a brownie) fit upon the slate holder. My spouse was charmed by the aromatic plume of smoke rising from the chimney. Actually the cottage looks like the old cottage where his mother was raised near the Cliffs of Moher--except the old roof on that cottage was big gray pieces of heavy slate and not the yellow of this ceramic cottage. I expect to keep this on the mantle at Christmas time. I prefer its fragrance to that of any other incense.....if you choose to call it that. It has family significance because, as a young man before he came to America, the father worked in the peat bogs. Charming and inexpensive, with the possibility of replenishing the supply of the peat bricks.
