die and collect in requiring delicate and labor-some removal periodically like was required for the hot halogen lamp
I replaced a 300-watt halogen tochiere lamp I had for years. It required replacing the bulb every 2 to 7 years, but at least the bulbs could be replaced. That is a drawback to this lamp as the led array cannot be replaced. So when the led's give out after 10 to 20 years, if the lamp makes it that long (I'm hoping), the lamp will have to just be discarded. The newer halogen bulbs now all made in China didn't last as long as the original ones even though they are cheaper. Finally it seemed that the rheostat failed as well and my attempt to replace it didn't prove successful to get my halogen lamp operational again: new bulbs either only lasted one lighting or never worked at all. I would judge that this led lamp has a similar "hotness" as my old halogen lamp... neither more yellow or blue. I never had a 190-watt halogen, but I imagine that this intensity approximately mimics that level because it is similar to when I had my 300-watt halogen at about 2/3 intensity which is the level I usually kept that lamp at.I have a white ceiling and it reflects similarly as my defunct 300-watt halogen lamp did, although the flat lamp top led lamp beams the lighting more directly straight out up to the ceiling than the bowl dispersion of the halogen did. The height of this lamp is about 4 1/2 inches shorter than the halogen torchiere it replaced. I am about 72 1/2" tall and the lamp would be somewhat in my eyes if I was any taller, the light of the led array would be somewhat directly in the eyes of a taller person. The lamp top can be pivoted about 20 degrees. This might be helpful if your lamp is near a wall and could be angled toward the wall to prevent the lighting in your eyes when you walk around the lamp. Away from the wall, any angle would be in your eyes at some position around the lamp. The angling of the lamp can somewhat change where the light is brightest, but not greatly. I also suppose if your ceilings were darker the change would be even less. Another factor that another reviewer mentioned that I can see will be helpful is that there is no space between the cover and the led array for bugs to fry, die and collect in requiring delicate and labor-some removal periodically like was required for the hot halogen lamp. I am looking forward to the ongoing reduced electricity usage of this 30-watt lamp over time compared to my old 300-watt halogen too. The lamp was easy to assembly and sits solidly. It has a weighted base that is totally adequate for the overall weight and width of the lamp. This lamp is likely half the weight of the halogen torchiere and requires half the weight to stabilize it.The lamp top is 9 3/4 inches in diameter while the base is 10 inches in diameter and 1 inches thick. The pole is 3/4 inches in diameter. By comparison, the base of my old halogen torchiere was 11 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches thick. It's pole was 1 1/2 inches in diameter. I have made all these references to the halogen torchiere as a comparison because I have read from previous reviewers that they, like me, reluctantly and as a final necessity had to replace their old halogen lamps which most of them liked a lot as I did. So, I'm sure that many future buyers will be in our same boat and want to know what they will be getting as a comparison to what they have been used to. The length of the cord from the transformer plugged into wall to the lamp base is 6 feet. At the edge of the base a connector plugs into the lamp cord running up through the middle of the pole. There are 4 pole sections that screw easily and tightly together. At the top of the 3rd section from the base, there is a connector that plugs into the final wire running through the top section to the lamp top. By the way, aesthetically it is certainly NOT ugly (mine is black), although it is certainly somewhat minimalist and understated compared to other larger flare-shaped torchiere lamps most people are used to. I find that we are using this lamp 80% of the time at the brightest level and the other 20% spread between the two lower intensities. One last thing, if you connect the lamp; to a switched outlet, that switch IS usable with this lamp. The answer to that question seemed a bit ambiguous from other reviews I read before purchasing this lamp. How long the switch is off determines how long it takes for the lamp to turn on. If the switch is off for only a few seconds, the lamp will come on in under 2 seconds. If it has been off for over 10 minutes, the lamp will take about 4 seconds to light, and it always comes on at the brightest setting no matter what level it had been at when the switch was turned off.

Bright and Beautiful – A Floor Lamp That Truly Elevates a Room
Bright and Beautiful – A Floor Lamp That Truly Elevates a Room I’ve been using the Brightech Sky LED Floor Lamp for a few weeks now, and it has become one of those pieces that I didn’t realize I needed until it was in place. The first thing that stands out is how much light this puts out—it really does fill the room with a clean, bright light without feeling harsh. It’s perfect in my living room where I use it for both reading in the evenings and adding extra brightness during gatherings. The build is solid but sleek, with a tall, slim profile that tucks neatly into a corner. The bronze finish gives it a subtle touch of class without drawing too much attention to itself. The head angles slightly, letting me direct the light just where I want it, which makes it more versatile than a fixed torch lamp. One of my favorite features is the dimmable function. With just a simple touch, I can adjust the brightness from an all-out “sunlight” level down to a soft, cozy glow. That flexibility makes it equally useful for reading or just creating a relaxing evening ambiance. I also appreciate the energy efficiency—this LED uses a fraction of the power of traditional bulbs, which means no guilt about keeping it on longer. If I had to note something for others to keep in mind, it’s that this lamp is designed for function and brightness over decoration. If you’re looking for an ornate or decorative centerpiece, this is more minimalist and modern in its style. For me, that’s exactly what I wanted, but it’s worth knowing. Bottom line: A bright, elegant, and functional lamp that instantly improves both the look and feel of a room. Highly recommended if you want a reliable, dimmable light source that blends in seamlessly with different décor styles.

I am impressed on most counts but disappointed by the delay when powering on.
I did NOT receive a discount on this product and bought it with my own money. Pros: It puts out an impressive amount of light It is not hot to the touch - update: the top is not hot but under the leds is hot. Its sleek and can fit in some pretty tight places If hooked up to a light switch and it is off for more than 5 seconds it will go to full brightness when switched on again regardless of previous dim level or state. If I had to guess I would say this light is 3500k. Perfect for what I need Cons: I am surprised I only took off 1 star for this to be honest. Remember the days when you turned on a product and it just turned on and when you turned off a product it just turned off? Well those days seem to be long gone. This Lamp Takes a full 2 seconds to turn on from a cold start. I have it hooked up to an outlet controlled by a light switch. I initially did a double take when I first turned it on. I then proceeded to leave it off for about a minute and when I turned it on I counted ..1 Mississippi ..2 Mississippi then the light came on. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I measured 33 watts at full brightness, 16 at next dim settings and 6 watts at lowest setting. I measured with a kill-a-watt meter The video I have attached shows the power on delay. I switched both lights on using the power button on a power strip at the same time. If you are not going to use this with an outlet controlled by a switch on the wall then there is not much of a delay. EDIT: as someone kindly pointed out in the comment section. It is stated that this is not compatible with light switches in the description. I am leaving my review 4 stars however as I am reviewing this item as a light that costs a fair amount of money and what features good or bad it has in comparison to other similar products. Also I think the fact that a light does not work with a switch is not a normal thing and it should be stated in the title not the lengthy description.

Great lamps for indirect lighting
We have these lights in most corners of our house for indirect lighting - and with smart switches we can control them with Alexa.

An excellent new or replacement lamp.
I bought this lamp to try to replace a 300Watt Halogen lamp. This lamp definitely does it, it is a superb product, assembly was trivial. The eyeballed light output, at the initial power on setting, equals or exceeds the Halogen lamp. The Brightech lamp has three light level settings and off, all controlled by a capacitive touch switch built into the pole. Even the second level almost equals the light output of an aged Halogen. The lamp always starts at the highest power level. The lamp can be connected to a standard wall switched or un-switched power socket, and I have been running it on an X10 light control module without any issue. You will notice a second or two delay from turning the power on and seeing the light if using a switch. If you are not using some sort of power switch you'll need up to three taps on the capacitive switch to turn the lamp off. The touch switch does work well, requiring barely a brush of the finger to operate. Power is provided by a power brick which outputs 24v @ 1.6A. So the power output maximum from the brick is 38.4Watts. The lamp is advertised at 30Watts so this is very reasonable. Dropping from 300Watts to 30Watts with the same or better light output is just what I was looking for. The light color is a medium warm 3000K color, 2700K is a typical warm white (yellow tinted color) So it is just a little bit more white than the Halogen, but it is not that harsh white you get from 5000K lights. The 'color' is quite nice. The lamp is not tall enough in my opinion, it needs another 6-7 inches of height. For me the light is about right at eye level, and the Brightech lamp is 6.5 inches shorter than my Halogen lamp. So if you are over 6' you'll probably want to put the lamp on something to raise it up. I'm going to try to procure a pole extension. The pole pieces just screw together and while the power does goes through the pole it does not prevent adding a piece between the base and the first pole where the power enters from the side. The power brick is nice but the power prongs are built into it which means the brick hangs on the wall, and can't be plugged into an X10 box directly. I had to use an extension cord. When plugging it directly into the wall socket it hangs down but did not seem to block use of the top socket. I suppose it depends on what you need to plug into the top socket. The best recommendation information I can provide is that I will be buying a second one later this year.

Beautiful and Bright LED Lamp
Beautiful lamp that fits most decors. Design makes the bright LED light indirect by directing it upward to reflect off the ceiling. Bright enough to light our entire rather large Den.

I keep calling this the "Sun" lamp, not "Sky" lamp
So bright! Which is great, as sometimes I need a lot more lot than the single-bulb, almost-century-old ceiling light fixture in this room can provide. I keep calling this the "Sun" lamp when it is on its highest setting. Nice stepdown between the 3 brightness levels. Lowest is good ambient light, middle good for most everyday lighting needs, highest for when you really need to see well. Very simple and quick to put together, took maybe 5 minutes. The midcentury-inspired brass finish is a lovely touch, and the slim profile means it fits into some fairly tight spaces. Might pick up a second one for another room!

USA plug
Seems well made and easy to put together. The tilt on the head is limited, it rotates around but mainly faces up. Two pin flat bladed plug, it doesn't say this in the specifications.
