Using with Zones of Regulation resources
I’m using this for my 4 year old to teach Zones of Regulation- they have a lot of free resources on their site including a list of books and this was one of them that I couldn’t find at the library. The expressions are really great in this book- the kid and photographer did a great job getting disappointed, proud, embarrassed and more.

Great book for Preschool age students
I purchased this book to use with Zones of Regulation Curriculum. I like that the book is short and straight to the point. It holds young children's attention and is relatable. I was able to have some good, age appropriate discussion with the students based on what was in the book and relate it to Zones of Regulation as well.

Food for thought
I bought this for my daughter when she was about two and a half. She liked it then and is still very intrigued by it several months later. I love seeing the wheels turn in her mind as she imagines and works to comprehend someone else's predicament. Relatable emotions for a young child. Great photos.

I like all but two pages of this book
I like all but two pages of this book. This is due to the facial expression that is not common so it's not very easily interpreted or imitated. I also don't care for the way it ends (the resolution or the facial expression). When I read it I make up my own ending. Overall, it's a great resource for teaching kids that it's normal to experience a variety of feelings within a short period of time. I actually liked that it was black and white.

Great story about feelings
Great story about feelings. There is a short verse on a two page, blank white spread, then you turn the page for an adorable photo of the boy showing how he feels. I love the simplicity of the book, and feel it really highlights the emotion. My two year old was concerned when the boy was scared by a movie he had seen, but that does not deter from his love of this book!! It can be so difficult for children to put a word to their feelings, and this book does a good job of highlighting a few emotions.

Really great classic book about feelings
Really great classic book about feelings. Nice and simple and the real pictures are perfect. Of course my son loves the one where he burps...I love books like this for my kids that address real situations they face. Perfect for talking about when they felt these ways and also seeing that it is a normal part of life and perfectly acceptable to feel these different ways at different times. Having labels for feelings is super helpful for little ones to reduce fits etc :)

Perfect for early elementary mindfulness lessons
Perfect book for teaching temporary state of emotions and how our faces express feelings, as well as our bodies. Students enjoy guessing the emotion and then showing how they look when they are disappointed, embarrassed, etc. I used this as part of a mindfulness lesson with K-2 classrooms.
