What kind of glass can it fuse?

Glass has different COE (coefficients of expansion)... Off the top of my head I think the two types are COE 90 and COE 96. COE 90 is generally more pretty, but harder to work with. If you get COE 90 glass, it'll take you a little while but you'll figure out how to use it in this kiln. I've made literally hundreds of pendants in it. My tip, run the microwave at 50% power or so for about 5-6 minutes, then start checking the glass every 30 seconds or so until it starts to melt together. Once it's fully fusing, you have a VERY narrow window of time to stop of the microwave before color starts burning off and turning to Grey bot inside the glass and on the surface. It's very easy to ruin beautiful pieces if you overheat. This is more likely the higher the heat level. Also, make sure you properly let it cool down for at least a half hour before removing glass from the kiln. Otherwise the temperature difference will cause it to crack or explode apart. It's going to drive you crazy at first but once you get in the zone  and get a feel for how glass works, you'll be making some beautiful pieces.

Are there any instructions with approximate times or other relevant info?

Microwave should be at least 1000 watts for best results.
If using a microwave oven less than 1000 watts of power,try a 8 minutes firing.As needed,add 30 seconds on successive firing until you achieve your desired results.
The hole in the top glows orange when the kiln is at fusing temperatures.It may take a few attempts to figure out the ideal firing times,usually between 6 to 8 minutes,take the kiln out of the microwave and set on a non-flammable rack to cool.Do not open the kiln for 30 minutes.

Question 3

Came with a slice in base that will show on fused pieces. I can try to fill it with bead release to repair, but can I still return if it doesn't work?

You can try sanding it smooth and use kiln paper.

How long do you put itin the microwave and at what power?

I put mine on for 5 and 1/2 minutes full power cool for 30 minutes 925 watt microwave the time depends on what size microwave
