Seems to work ok.
It seems sturdy, with a metal locking mechanism and coated wire cable. I haven't had the chance to use it in real life yet. If your computer's lock hole was larger than normal the lock came with extra disks that you could put inside your laptop lock hole to make this lock fit.I was able to push in the button to set the combination but it was a little tricky to release the button out again. I almost though I had screwed up setting it. Still, I'd rather have a lock that was hard to set than one that would accidently change the combo during normal use. (I had that happen to a luggage lock while on vacation and then had to cut the zipper.)

Good method of securing your laptop in public places like libraries and coffee shops
This fit my HP Pavilion laptop perfectly and the instructions to set up the 4 digit combination lock were very easy to follow. If you use your computer in a public place like a library or coffee shop you naturally don't want to have to pack it all up when you need to leave for a few minutes to use the restroom or retrieve a book. This combination lock with a very long cable is perfect for situations like that. Or maybe you have a dicey roommate or two that you might not trust with keeping valuables like your laptop just laying around unsecured; this would work great for that as well. All you have to do is attach the lock to a little opening that most or all computers have on the side and then loop the other end of the cable around something that a person can't walk away with. In a public place that could be a bit tricky - maybe the back of a chair? I mean it's not likely someone would walk out of a library or coffee shop holding a chair. On the other hand if you were to loop the cable around a table leg then a thief could just lift up one end of the table and steal your laptop. In your home you could loop the cable around a part of the bed frame, for example. Of course if someone really wanted to steal your computer they could eventually cut through this cable with a strong cord cutter but that would take a little time. If you're using this in a public place and you just need to use the restroom then this lock would be ideal as you'd only be away from your laptop for a few minutes. It's worth the purchase for some peace of mind.

Doesn't work with every laptop...
Laptop Lock didn't work for my laptop, but it still does it's job, tried it on another laptop. Just be careful make sure your cable is compatible. My laptop is the 2017 Omen X 17t laptop. Be careful while choosing! The locking part is more square on this lock compared to the Kensington with rounded corners (see picture) and because the corners are rounded, there was enough clearance inside the laptop lock hole. I messed up and it isn't worth for me to return as out of the $13 I paid, I'd only get refunded $6 :/Bodyguard Notebook Laptop Combination Lock (Top)Kensington Combination Lock (Bottom)

Great lock. With minor upgrades, this would be outstanding.
Major upgrade over my old combo computer cable, although it is not quite as long as I expected (mine measures 6'). The locking piece connecting to the cable has a flexible hinge, making it much easier to install the lock and get maximum stretch out of the cable. The cable itself is more flexible than my old cable locks and appears strong or stronger. Will definitely deter anyone from a 'snatch and grab" as you'd need substantial wire cutters to clip the cable. Setting the combination was easy (instructions included).Only complaints are minor: 1) It's hard to read the numbers (very shiny metal around the numbers reflect direct light). Would be nice if numbers were painted in a bright color so easier to read. 2) The alignment row is not outlined or indicated on the face of the barrel, so could inadvertently align the numbers on the reverse side and struggle to get it open (or worse set it to the wrong combination). Would be nice to have an arrow on the face of the lock pointing to the alignment row or an overlay highlighting the row.

but otherwise it's a great laptop lock and the combination means I don't have ...
Lock works as expected although it was hard to originally set the combination and I thought I'd broken the lock in the process of doing so. I took off one star for that, but otherwise it's a great laptop lock and the combination means I don't have to worry about losing keys. Since I can't find my house keys after three months, this is a good thing.

A Sturdy Laptop Lock
This Body Guard Notebook/Laptop Lock came very well package. It came in a very sturdy plastic ziploc bag. This Body Guard Notebook/Laptop Lock is made very well. The lock is made with of metal and the cable is made with steel wire rope and is coatd with heavy plastic. The cable is about 6 feet long. It is long enough to lock your laptop and wrap it around the table leg. It was very easy to set your own password. Although I do recommend trying it out before setting your own password. This Body Guard Notebook/Laptop Lock works on Lenovo small laptop, but it did not work for my Apple Mac Laptop. Before ordering double check your laptop to see if it has a lock port. This is not for all laptops or notebooks. When the lock is attached the computer can stil be used. This only protects your laptop from physically being taken. Overall, I am very satisified with this Body Guard Notebook/Laptop Lock. I do recommend this.

Never unlocked once set :-/
This feels and looks like an amazing lock. Only problem is, it hasn’t open since I first tested it in 2018. I come back everyone once in awhile to try the combo and reset it but it won’t budge. According to the Q&A section above, resetting doesn’t actually work.I’m open to any tip.

Very happy with this lock
The only problem I had was that the first time I pushed in the reset button, it got off-center and was stuck too far down inside the lock. Once I realized that though, it was easy enough to get it back in place, and then just push a little more gently for the reset. It's a great length, enough to find something permanent to which you can attach it. They included three differently sized spacers, apparently for different models that may have differently sized locks, but I didn't need them. Seems very sturdy, and easy to use.FWIW, what I didn't understand about this as a combination lock was, what prevents someone else from pushing in the reset button to clear the passcode? It's because you must have it set to the passcode before you can push in the reset button. So if you don't know the passcode, even if it's your own lock, there's no clear way to reset it.
