It's Got It All
I love this totally comprehensive compendium of chords for the ronroco. It focuses on DGBEB (Argentine tuning). Aquile makes nylgut strings in DGBEB, also Medina Artigas. I prefer nylgut. The author, Tobe A. Richards has composed many chord books for different instruments, and has a website. I also have his bibles for the Portuguese guitar, charango, cavaquinho, and Colombian tiple. Fantastic!!

This is a good series, and easier to read and use while practicing than a lot of other chord books and charts on the market.I have to strike one star from this particular volume, however, as the author chose the Argentinian "Santaolalla" tuning (an octave down from the Walaycho), which is not used much by Andean players and is for somewhat shorter scale (66cm body length) instruments that use different string gauges than the more typical 75cm body length (usually paired with a 19" nut-to-bridge scale). It is most common to tune these longer-scale "La Kjarkas" inspired instruments down an octave from the Charango (i.e. GCEAE).Having said that, there's no point in even publishing a Ronroco book unless distinguishing it from both the Walaycho (aka Hualaycho) and the Charango, both of which have dedicated volumes in this series. That means focusing on the Chilean (and part of Bolivia) tuning of CFADA. But that too is redundant with the Charangon. So the only truly unique tuning is EAC#F#C#, which is mostly used in parts of Peru. The author has done a better job with other "modern folk" instruments that were invented/hybridized from the 1960's forward, such as the Irish Bouzouki and Irish Cittern, in either publishing separate editions for the different tuning standards, or describing the differences in one volume (such as for the Appalachian Dulcimer). For those who do use the Argentinian "Santaolalla" tuning for their Ronroco (as popularized by Pablo Richter and Gustavo Santaolalla), the longer scale of the Ronroco does at least mean that more chord positions are possible than with the Walaycho that uses the same tuning, due to generally having four additional frets to work with.

The best book on Ronroco chords that I could find.
Not much to say other then that it covers a wide range of chords. Some of the fingerings seemed very hard to accomplish but there are several option per chord so there is always a solution for the chord you need.
