SABRENT M.2 NVMe Heatsink for PS5 with Thermal Silicone Pad

Was not sure about getting this as an alternative to a drive with a heat sink at first, but this drive fits into the PS5 well, is applicable to any m.2 drive, and I haven’t encountered any overheating problems with my current new ssd. Would recommend this to anyone looking to expand their console storage

This heatsink was very easy to install. My Netac SSD came with a heat-spreader which I installed when I put it in the PS5, but it was throttling when doing big transfers, so I thought a heat sink would be useful. I wanted one that would conduct heat out of the bay, as the standard metal cover looks like it would reflect radiant heat from a heatsink back into the bay. This heatsink was reviewed well and great value at the time I ordered. Installation was very straightforward - once the SSD is in place, remove the standard bay cover and put this one in its place, remembering to remove the plastic covering from the thermal pad as you do so. I did a big file transfer (400Gb) immediately after install and it held a higher speed for longer than before. The speed dropped a little then picked back up, which might have been the thermal pad melting to the right shape to conduct heat optimally. PS4 and PS5 games play super smoothly from the SSD and I would recommend this SSD highly as it is great value and improves on the Sony factory cooling design. NB I didn’t use the included screwdriver as it looked very low quality.

If your a PS5 owner and looking for a heatsink for your new ssd expansion then look no further. This Sabrent heatsink is a great choice! It fits the Playstation 5 expansion slot like a glove. It's super easy to install and comes with clear instructions. Once it's physically installed your good to go, no firmware updates or formatting needed. It works with any brand ssd that you choose to go with, so not just the Sabrent brand. So far the heatsink is doing its job perfectly. Before I got the Sabrent heatsink I was using a much cheaper type and whilst transferring a bunch of games im pretty sure it caused the ssd to overheat, initially it said 40mins left till complete the transfer, I checked back half hour later and it had changed to a crawling 99+ hours. Since getting this new heatsink installed iv tested the ssd with similar circumstances and it handled it all like a boss. Honestly, I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I am 100% recommending this product for anyone with a PS5 and planning a storage upgrade, it's worth the little bit of extra cash to keep your ssd and PS5 running smoothly.

Great used this with a WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB SSD, M.2 2280 NVMe in the last generation of FAT PS5 model made just before the PS5 Slim came out so the very last Fat PS5 version I was a bit worried about the whole drive sticking to the SSD but when you press it down and screw it in place its worked well the transfer speeds are really quick 500GB was done in no time. What I really want from the cool dudes at Sabrent is a SSD Drive APP for M series Macs so we can format SSD in Sabrent's caddies for NVMe and SATA and set up partitions, I think there are tools that can be used for older intel MAC's possibly under Emulation but not the ARM based M chip Macs. Its a pain having to boot a Linux or Windows machine to setup these drives. Update You can use the Mac Disk utility to setup up partitions on external drives 😉

Was having problems with my PS5 overheating on long sessions, bought one of these and it hasn't overheated again since. Very easy to install, just pop the side off and unscrew the expansion bay cover and screw this into its place. Well worth a try if you've been experiencing overheating with your PS5.

Very easy to install and fits perfectly and does the job . Been playing on my Ps5 for hours with all my games installed on the SSD instead of console storage and haven’t had any issue with Performance . It honestly feels faster then Sonys custom SSD but it’s still overpriced in my opinion . Saying that I would still highly recommend this Heatsink

Après avoir consulté différents avis sur les dissipateurs potentiels, mon choix s'est porté sur le Sabrent M.2 NVMe PS5 heatsink. Il est ultra simple à installer et parfaitement adapté. Il s'installe à la place de la trappe d'origine à la perfection. Il est compatible avec les ssd interne M.2 NVMe au format 2280 qu'ils soient simple face ou double face et ne disposant pas de dissipateur thermique d'origine. Côté bruit, je ne dispose pas de point de comparaison avec un autre dissipateur thermique pour en parler avec objectivité. Le petit tournevis fourni est idéal pour fixer le ssd à la console, en revanche j'ai utilisé un autre tournevis (plus adapté à mon sens) pour visser le dissipateur à la place de la trappe d'origine. Il est installé depuis quelques jours et me donne entière satisfaction. La fonctionnalité particulière de ce dissipateur ne semble pas mensongère, je n'ai pas noté de hausse de chaleur à ce niveau depuis l'installation du ssd. Il est très efficace.
