I got complimented on my Turkey and that never happens
According to family members, this is the BEST turkey that I have ever made. I just followed the instructions with the kit and used the kit exactly as described. It was pretty simple to do. I bought a frozen turkey (since it is cheaper by like 1/2 the price). I thawed it per US FDA recommendations, which are also given in the kit. My 20 lb turkey needed to defrost for 4-5 days in the fridge. Then, I took the turkey and brined it per the instructions of the kit. You take the kit seasoning and have it dissolve in hot water then let the water cool. Then put the clean defrosted turkey in the bag with the brine and more water, some apple-cider vinegar. You let that brine for about as many hours as your turkey is. Mine took ~20 hours to brine. Then, you take the turkey out and let it dry so it has liquid come off. Then, you RUB the heck on the surface of the turkey to cover the skin in a thick layer of protective butter. You stick the turkey in the oven at LOW temperature to cook for a long time. You stick an apple in its butt (optional and not listed in instructions but I find it gives it moisture). You put a foil tent on it to guard the breast from browning since the leg (dark meat) and breast meat (white meat) cook at different rates. You let it cook for an hour like so, and then take off the foil tent. Then let it cook for the remainder at the same temp. My turkey based on size took 4 hours to cook this way. You don't need to baste it at all as long as you have a good layer of butter on it (to prevent it from burning). It will TASTE AMAZING. The Cajun seasoning was my favorite. I want to get more and hope they come out with more variations for next year.

Perfect taste for most
I used this plus a Traeger recipe for a turkey last year. Everyone loved it. I like a little more spice but nobody else likes spicy. It had great flavor and was not spicy at all so I didnโt get my heavy spicy but thatโs a good thing. My wife thought I was going to ruin the turkey using the Cajun flavor. Yes I will buy it again but I wonโt tell my wife itโs Cajun next time.

The best turkey ever!
It turned out to be the best turkey I've ever made! The brine infused the meat with a perfect balance of bold, zesty flavors, adding just the right amount of spice without overwhelming the natural taste of the turkey. The skin came out beautifully crisp, and the meat was incredibly juicy and tender. Every bite was bursting with flavor, with a nice kick from the Cajun seasoning that made it stand out from the usual turkey recipes. This brine is definitely a game-changer and will be my go-to for Thanksgiving and beyond. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their turkey game!

Tasty, but not quite as much as I thought it would be
This kit includes everything you need to brine a turkey. It was easy to do, but didn't quite add as much flavor as I thought it would. Since nearly every turkey that you find at the grocery store is alreay pre brined with a salt solution, I believe is what limits the flavor that a seasoned brine can impart. If you can fine a fresh un-brined turkey then this would probably be much better. I thought about using it on chickens but have yet to do so.

First time user, loved the results!
My first time to try brine, and the results were wonderful! I had a 7 lb turkey breast (bone in), so I only used half the mix and brined for 5 hours (per instructions on the package). After brining, I injected the meat with melted butter, and put it in an electric smoker stocked with hickory chips. Left it in the smoker until the meat temp'd at 165 degrees, about 4 hours. It was the most tender, moist turkey that we had ever had! My father usually prefers dark meat, but he said that this white meat turkey breast was just as good or better than any dark meat. Will definitely be purchasing again! Don't be worried about this Cajun flavor being too spicy; the brine will make you think it's going to be too much spice and heat, but the bird itself really didn't have that much hot flavor. Just moist and tender!

Best out of 3 turkeys at our family Thanksgiving meal
Holy cow! This brine made my house smell so good! My turkeys flavor was not salty, you could tell it was not just seasoned on the surface. I brined my turkey one hour per pound. I used this cajun kit to brine a 22 pound turkey. When I went to debone the breast and the ribs from this turkey before smoking it, there was so much juice coming from the turkey. I could tell it was coming from the brine because of the color and the smell of it. I used a melted garlic herb butter with bacon grease and a dash of soy sauce on the skin about 45 minutes before the turkey was done. I highly recommend this for turkey and I canโt wait to try it on chickens.
