Great replacement for a worn out part!
We've used our plug-in cooler to go around the entire coiuntry twice. It has been used for two 12,000 mile trips. On the second one, the cord connection got real iffy, which is not good since we were using it so regularly in remote places. This cord was very inexpensive and fits perfectly. We have taken three trips of several hundred miles each with it, and it works perfectly. Very happy customer.

I had to modify it.
I bought this for a electric cooler I bought for my service truck. The cooler came with out a cord. This plug was too big to plug into my cooler, but with a dremel I wittled it to fit perfectly. This cable was about 1/4 the price of the actual replacement cable for my cooler. I am positive that this works perfectly for what it is intended for so I give it five stars anyway.

Not Safe
A couple years ago I purchased 2 of these items. We used one on our Igloo Koolmate 12 V Cooler with the Koolmate converter that allows you to convert to be able to plug into an 110 electric outlet. Our converter burnt up and " cigarette "lighter end on this product melted.I thought it was just from the converter being bad. This year I purchased 2 of these items , one for each of our Igloo Koolmate 12 volt coolers and also a new converter. We used one of these items at an event with the converter. The " cigarette "lighter end on this product melted. We also tried using another one of these items with another newer converter and plugged it into our cigarette lighter and immediately our vehicle became disabled along the road. It took a half a day to figure out it was a fuse that was blown. Our house frig died and I got the last one of theses items out and connected it to a converter and plugged the Koolmate Cooler into our house 110 wall plug, so I could store food for a few hours. Within a half a day that cigarette lighter end had melted and stopped working After these incidents we have use both coolers, with both old and new converters, and a similar thermoelectric power cord end we purchased from Auto Zone that was made by a different company with no problems. Evidently there is something wrong with these power cord supplies. At least glad we didn't have a fire start from the melting. However we lost a day on a trip due to the vehicle blowing a fuse and also had a converter burn up. I would not recommend these as safe to use to anyone.

Not quite universal but close enough for a little DIY modification
The red/blue plug end was a tad too wide to fit my older Koolatron cooler but a couple of slits in the cooler's receptacle was all it took to get the plug to fit it. I lined up the blue side of the plug with the arrow on one side of the receptacle and the heat sink inside started cooling immediately. The fans turn and it all works great. I didn't try reversing the plug to see if the cooler can become a warmer but there's no reason to think this cord wouldn't work equally well in the other direction.Several other reviews mentioned blown vehicle fuses and heat damage to the plug. Mine seems fairly robust but it has a 6A fuse which can be a bit too much current for the outlet on some vehicles. Still, I do plan to keep a close eye on things.

Did not fit my cooler.
Nobody's fault but mine.

Works well for my purpose
I cut off the cooler end and soldered it to the wiring on my Coleman Cooler. The spade connectors that were there were burned anyway. The other end fits tight into 12v accessory outlets and doesn't vibrate loose, and doesn't overheat under the load of the cooler unlike others. Cheaper than genuine Coleman, and maybe just a wee bit better.

Great replacement cord
My original cord (plug end) overheated and warped the plastic shroud leading to hit or miss connections. This design looks good. Only time and heavy usage will tell.

RoadPro RP-255 Universal ThermoElectric Power Cord
I purchased an Igloo Cooler at a yard sale and it came without the 12 volt power cord. I wasn't sure the RoadPro RP-255 Universal ThermoElectric 12V Power Cord would work and I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but after reading other reviews on Amazon I decided to give it a try. I was glad I did. It worked perfectly! If you are looking for an inexpensive replacement power cord for your cooler get this one from Amazon, you'll be glad you did.

Works great. Saves throwing our 12v cooler.
Wish I'd known these were so readily available years ago. I've had my cooler for 10+ years but the weekness has always been the 12v power cord. I've replaced both ends at least 3 times each with reasonable results but parts & labour definitely add up to more than this replacement cord which fits snug and works perfectly.

That it works with the hot cold cooler and the cable has the red and blue colors for the feature
We have a Igloo 40 quart cooler and it's probably 17 years old and the cord wasn't working it anymore.I tried the cable tonight and the cooler works like new again.Thank you

It has a power LED to indicate when it's receiving power from ...
***Update: My initial review was based on a short few minute test. I took this plug on a 15 hour road trip and it managed to blow the fuse both in my friends and my own vehicle - my first real use of the plug. The metal side prongs would get so hot that they would sink into the male end of the adapter and get stuck/cause a short along with a very loud squealing noise which I believe is what was blowing fuses. It was garbage after just a few days of useWorked Perfectly with my Igloo Iceless 40 Quart Thermoelectric Cooler. It has a wonderful power LED to indicate when it's receiving power from your 12V socket, and is a nice snug fit into the cooler connector (my original factory Igloo cord was not snug and would cause the connection to be flakey at best and the cooler would work intermittently since the connection was loose).
