Amazing!
I've been trying and failing to grow tomatoes in East Texas for three years. Finally I bought an Earthbox. This thing is magical. It comes with very specific instructions on how to mix the fertilizers with the soil and where to plant things. Follow them. Because this is the land of the mosquitoes, I put a flat carbon filter refill (for a fish tank filter, it was like $2 at Walmart) over the self draining hole in the bottom of the planter, and I covered the watering spout. The tomato in the Earthbox and the tomato in the pot are the exact same variety, planted at the same time, and they were the same size when I planted them!! I know it's a little pricey, but I've probably spent at least $50 on plants that died over the past three years. This year I think I'll finally have tomatoes! I'll update this review when I do!Update: Grew tons of tomatoes. I’m going to buy another earthbox this year!

You will love these!!!
These Earthboxes are absolutely amazing. All I do is add water daily, and the vegetables our totally outgrowing anything my dad is growing in his traditional garden. I just don't have time (or a green thumb) to tend to a traditional garden, but with these boxes, I can have a full garden with almost no work. One of my favorite parts is how excited my 4 and 6 year old are about growing vegetables!!I used my Silhouette Cameo to cutout white vinyl to stickers for the front of each box. I just thought they could use a little something, and my kids love that they each have a box with their name on it!

A breeze to set-up
First time using an EARTHBOX. Amazingly easy to set up - took just a few minutes. Some reviews mentioned castor-wheels falling off. It is not enough to just place the spokes of the castor-wheels into the holes. You have to turn the box upside-down and push the castors in firmly till they click into place - I have been lifting the boxes and moving them around and the castor-wheels have not fallen off.In my hot and humid tropical isle, mosquitoes are a BIG issue. To prevent them breeding in the reservoir, I cut a piece of carbon filter from leftovers after replacing the filter in my cookerhood, and place it over the drainage hole ON THE INSIDE of the Earthbox, before putting in the screen. I flipped the box over and checked - the filter fits snugly over the hole. After filling the box with potting mix, and planting the seedlings, I filled the reservoir and checked that the water overflow was not impeded by the carbon filter. I also fashioned a cover for the watering tube to prevent the mosquitoes going into the reservoir that way.Now I wait to see if my corn will grow - will update later.UPDATE: Soaked corn kernels for about one day, and sow them directly into prepared EARTHBOX, put on the mulch cover as directed - 13 of the 16 seeds germinated in less than two days! wow! Now, after less than 4 days, the seedlings are already about 10 inches tall, and look really strong and healthy. The EARTHBOX reservoir is keeping the potting mix nice and moist. I am so happy with this that I have already ordered three more EARTBOXes, and planning what plants to grow in them! ^^

You can't be a beginner gardener
The instruction to start was vague a novice gardener needs step by step with better illustration, I had to google, no info on after care of seeds too vague, can't see water level in tube, unable to place casters, so now I can'tmove it cause they were left out due to cobid supply, unable to access order form for castors, unable to reach company, via email no response, ordered catalog no response

Tomatoes Growing!
Fun project and, hopefully, tomatoes in a few weeks. The box is easy to set up if you follow the instructions. You can also find YouTube videos.Make sure you unload everything from the box before you begin set up. I didn't realize that the soil preparation items were included in this kit but they are. So, only thing you need to purchase is the potting soil.
