Best few dollars I have spent for bait!
A dozen minnows cost $5.99. I use this from a dock and catch 2-3 dozen in a few minutes. I know every lake is different but using the bait that is naturally in the area tends to work better. Plus I don't have to worry about throwing a castnet. Helpful hint.. put a rock in the bottom. Maybe 5-6 oz. Helps is sink faster. Take a piece of bread and tear off a few pieces and throw in the trap. Minnows come to it and lift it up. Done..

I wanted to give it 5 stars, it is a nice net
First let me say. I did not receive this item for free, nor was I given a discount for my review. I returned the net because it was not "heavy duty" adequate for large fish, I think it would be great for crabbing, minnows, light weight fishing assistance. I wanted to give it 5 stars, because it is a nice net, just not what we needed.

Daughter loves it
My daughter was destroying my fishing nets using them to catch crab & other creatures from our dock. I decided to get this and see if it would save my last fishing net from getting destroyed. It works great. She has caught quite a few blue crab & lots of bait.I saw some of the reviews mention that it was too light to sink and I told her to let me know if I needed to add some fishing weights around the edges. It didn't bother her a bit, she just grabbed a small rock and put it in the bait pouch.

Be realistic
Chances are, you’re interested in this net because others are 4-10 times more expensive. So, its silly to expect an amazing net for your purposes without modding it in some fashion for your needs. The cables are weak and poorly knotted on the ring. However, the stitch around the ring keeping the net together looks good and sturdy. The bait area is flimsy and the net stitches are similar. Because the net is collapsible (twist it folks, it ain’t hard) I imagine the rods are pretty susceptible to becoming brittle if kept outdoors in the sun. So don’t do that.I purchased this net to go crabbing, since pots are banned for the remaining season in CA due to whale tangling. I modded it by replacing the cables with paracord using bowline knots. I also safety pinned an additional mesh pocket at the bottom to better secure the bait. The net comes with a bit of extra wire that I plan on using to stitch the holes that crabs will inevitably introduce, since the netting is weak.I’ll update once I return from my trip to complete my review.BE REALISTIC!UPDATE: I threw this net off a pier in Arcata,CA and even though it was slack tide the net was frequently carried away due to the fine netting. Even when weighed down with rocks it wouldn’t settle right. Wider stronger netting is super important, so I trashed it. 4 star down to 1.

too light
i like it but it is too light and doesn't go down very slow need to put a little rock on the bottom to go down faster especially when the is current. But overall got a lot of crabs. Thanks. God Bless you.

Broke after first use
Net broke after first use, my son did caught some little fish and crayfish though. Also, we were never able to fold it back into to the storage bag, but that might be on us.

Big Net
This net seems good enough quality although I have not used it yet. Have a practice of closing it and putting it back in the bag before you go fishing, once you've got it , its easy to get back in the bag. The net is large

Great for catching apples.
Used 4 of these to catch falling apples on my apple tree because the birds get them as soon as they hit the ground. Collapse nicely for easy storage.
