Great light for the money. Here's how it could be made even better...are you listening olight?
I really like the brightness of this light for a one cell light. I also love, love, love the pocket clip. The magnet feature is cool but is not as strong as I might have hoped so while it works, many surfaces are low or no ferrous metal content these days so it may not be useful and it may be a hinderance in your pocket pulling small objects out with the light like a key fob. My big complaint on this light and it may just take more time learning the interface is the side button interface. I came here from surefire,47,fenix,and streamlight all of which have positive click tail switches. I decided to try something different. Not sure how I feel about it. I have trouble getting it to repeatably switch on and off into the same mode. That's all I want a light to flipping do. Off/low/high/off nothing more. What they should have done was have a one position switch and a bezel that turns to three distinct clicked detents, that would allow you to turn the head just slightly to ramp up the light low, med, high. In coarse jumps. I'm aware another company has a continuasy variable model series out...that's not what I want either, I want minimal... Two-three settings just bulletproof to change between them.

A Gem of a Light with Great Features. Buy two; give one to your best friend!
This is a total winner. It does so much, and throws so much light, for such a tiny package. I have had perhaps a dozen older-technology LED lights, and either they are too large for everyday carry, or they don't have the right features. The S10-L2 has four different light intensities, so you can save your battery by using relatively normal light levels, or crank it up to light up a forest. Yes, it does take a little getting used to the operation of the switch, since a single switch controls many functions. I find that if you can remember that there are short presses, double presses, and long presses, you can figure out the operation if you've forgotten.I carry this on my hip all the time. It's not surprising that you use it frequently at night, but what's interesting is that I find lots of opportunities to use it in the day as well (working on my boat or car, finding something in a closet.)While there may be brighter lights with higher ratings, this tiny gem is all I need. I have used up exactly one battery since I bought it (remember to be a sleeve of 10 123 batteries from Amazon to save money), and keep a spare or two in your backpack or glove box.

One of the BEST EDC lights out there.
This thing has some power for it's size. Using a 16340 battery this thing will blind you. The small compact package makes it a great EDC light, as I barely even feel it in my pocket when I also have a small knife in the same pocket. The clip is very strong, and the construction and finish of the light is SUPERB. I was a little hesitant at first spending (at the time) $40 for a EDC light, but this light opened up my eyes to the quality and value of Olight. Also, the light shown in the listing is actually different than the one I received, I feel like the one I received is a better updated version, as the side switch is completely flat against the body of the light.Do not be scared about accidentally turning it on, it hasn't happened to me after owning it for a month. The magnet tail cap is also a very nifty idea, as you can come up with many different ways on placing this light somewhere for a better view. The new S1 baton is basically identical to this new version of the S10, save for the Lens and colored lens cap/ring. An extra 100 lumens might be worth the $10, but at the time i was wondering if spending even $40 for a EDC light was worth it, and in the end, it was.

but after reading an excellent review by Fidels Eyeglasses
This is my combined review of the Olight S10 L2 Baton 400 Lumens CREE XM-L2 LED Flashlight EDC and PowerTac E10 Spark 380 Lumen Flashlight. I had first purchsed the Olight. I was going to purchase a second Olight, but after reading an excellent review by Fidels Eyeglasses, I went ahead and bought the PowerTac.I agree with Fidels Eyeglasses in that the Olight produces a light that is not as white as the PowerTac. The PowerTac produces a light that 5000K or close. The Olight is a little off the mark. Fidels Eyeglasses says that there is a greenish-tint to the Olight; side-by-side I too can see a hint of a "greenish/yellowish" hue in the Olight when compared to the PowerTac, but the ight is still white. Both have a very low, low, medium, high, and strobe settings. Both are extremely bright on max setting (I have the XM-L2 version of the Olight S10, so unlike Fidels Eyeglass, my reflector is smooth and not textured like orange peel). The PowerTac is little more expensive. The two are just about the same size with the PowerTac being about 2-3 mm longer. Both have magnets in their bases (the Olight give the option of changing out the magnet for a silicone disc, included), both come with removable clips (the Olight gives the option of reversing the direction of the clip), and both come with a lanyard (the Olight has a drawstring to allow cinching of the laynyard). Both come with an extra O-ring, but the Olight comes with yet another O-ring and a key-chain ring. The switch on the PowerTac feels like textured rubber; the switch on the Olight is smooth blue plastic. The differences I've touched on so far are really very insignificant. I am keeping both of my purchases, but I am using each of them differently because of a few notable differences. The Olight is my "bump-in-the night" light primarily because it throws or scatters light in a wider radius and allows me to see more of the periphery. The PowerTac has a more focused beam than the Olight. This gives the PowerTac a brighter center, a narrower beam, and greater distance. This also really accentuates tunnel vision. In a stressful situation, I'm already suffering from tunnel vision. The spotlight-like beam of the PowerTac really diminishes contrast in my peripheral vision. Pair this with a "boomstick" and introduce a stressful situation, I will have less situational awareness than otherwise. I can only imagine that someone might notice me before I notice them. The Olight on the other hand floods a room much wore widely, so I can see things hiding in corners without having to directly shine a light and/or sweep a boomstick towards that corner. I lose the advantage of the PowerTac's 180+ meter beam distance, but I don't have 180 meter hallways in my home. Both lights memorize the last setting used and active that setting with a quick press of the switch. However, in case you forgot that you had used another setting (or in the case of the Olight, put in fresh batteries), you can double click the switch of the Olight to jump straight to high power. Again, this is good in a stressful situation where pressing and holding the switch to cycle to high beam (which is the last setting on the Olight and the second to last on the PowerTac) is not desirable. Instant on at the brightest setting is desirable.Press the Olight 4 times in quick succession from the off position, and the Olight goes to strobe. Perhaps someone could use this feature to disorient an intruder, but I will never use the strobe for my purposes. The thing I do like about the Olight and the strobe feature is that strobe is not part of the power cycle sequence, so I don't have to be annoyed by the strobe when I want to cycle to another power setting. For the PowerTac, strobe is the last setting on in the cycle sequence before returning to low power. What I don't like about the Olight is that the o-ring around the reflector glows in the dark once it's charged by a bright light. It's not bright enough to illuminate anything, but it does give away my position in complete darkness. The saving grace is that the o-ring needs to be charged first in order to glow, which means it won't glow before I turn on Olight and give away my position that way.The Olight also has a "lockout" feature which keeps the switch from accidentally activating when carried in a pocket. Sounds handy, but I don't carry this flashlight in a pocket. The PowerTac is my EDC light. It's has a whiter light, brigher beam, greater distance. It memorizes the last setting used even when the battery has been removed momentarily (but I don't know how long it will keeps it's memory without a battery). Aside from activating the very low setting by pressing and holding the switch, the switch is more intiutive (a.k.a. simple) in that there aren't any "short-cuts" too compliate use. Although the PowerTac doesn't have the "lockout" feature to prevent accidental activation in a pocket, the clip can be rotated to block the switch or the tailcap can be unscrewed slightly (keep in mind I don't know how long the switch keeps its memory without power).Overall, you can't go wrong with either one. Like I said, I'm keeping both of mine.
