Love them Easy to put up and use

An important device for your safety for any device or heater that might be running in your home. A loud shrill tone will alert you if danger is present from gases emitted by heaters. Strongly recommended the cost is minimal.

I bought one of these to bring with me when I travel – a lot of places I stay don't have CO detectors and I don't necessarily trust them to keep their appliances in good order. Looks nice, small and very lightweight, can easily stand up on your bedside table, seems to work. Haven't detected any CO yet, so can't promise anything there. Minus one star, however, because of a “feature” that prevents the battery compartment door from shutting unless you have a battery in it. I can understand why they added this, and for most people it's probably not even noticeable; it's probably a good idea for it to be annoying to not replace the battery if this is hung on the wall in your home. But given that there's no power switch (also expected and a good idea), it's obviously appropriate to take the battery out when I travel with it – the last thing I want is for my 90dB CO alarm to go off in my bag because the TEST button got depressed, and I'm not going to forget to put the battery in when I set it up. Having to carry the battery door separately from the rest of the alarm, or carefully press the tab down with a pencil to close it, is unnecessarily annoying. Not a dealbreaker – this alarm seemed the best in terms of size, weight, and general design for travel, and I'm not sure I'd pick a different one if I started over – but something to keep in mind.
