Are there any hot tubs that can't be converted to salt with a drop in? i bought a lifesmart ls350dx.

As long as your heater has titanium components that won't be corroded by the salt, you should be fine

How much salt do you use? I have a 250 lb tub

I have a 280 gallon tank and I fill it with about 5lbs of salt when I do a refresh then just top it up every time the indicator falls to low/yellow. Note the same indicator shows low/yellow when the temperature is low too so make sure the water is warm before you use it as a salt level reading. It’s very helpful though and the system works really well. Much better than filling the tub with synthetic chemicals.

Would this be safe to use with an extension cord?

I currently have an extension cord running to mine, however I will run an electrical box in conduit in the spring, just so I dont have a cord running across my patio. This has been a great product. Been using it since November with no issues. I have never had to add any chlorine since installed.

Can it be used in a chest freezer ice bath? How long do you think the water would last?

In the trouble shooting guide, a frozen cell is an error condition, so probably can't use it in a freezer.
