Soma Fabrications Q-82 High Rider Stem Raiser 1-1/8" 28.6/22.2Mm Silver

I used this in steer tube intended for a 25.4 stem. I was able to cut about 4 or 5 inches of steer tube off of a fork made for a 22.2, then fit that around your stem, and inserted into my steerer made for a 25.4. The wedge tightened perfectly, it's road tested etc. We left about two inches sticking out for extra stiffness and I greased all surfaces between the three things.The only trouble was figuring out the max stem height as it was hidden behind the shim, but we figured out a way to guess it roughly. I know that others have put a slit in the shim but we didn't need to.The only disadvantage for some is that the shim might stick out a bit, but it's good to add stiffness. I doubt that weight weenies are using a stem like this.

Its actually too tall for my use by about 3 inches. But being taller than any other stem raiser I have been able to locate in the previous six months or so I am going use it. Being so tall causes slight stability issues for me. Sometimes it just feels like with so much coming above the top tube, it will snap off. Probably would have returned it in all honestly but during the initial installation I managed to scratch it :(The thicker adapter head at the very top I had not taken into account. Overall finish is great looking though.

Recieved 5 stars because it worked. I din't need to replace brake and/or shift cables so it was a troule free and easy instllation. Raise h/bars to a near perfect height so my mountan bike si fun to ride on longer distance rides.It replaces a quill stem to the modern threadless styles that allow iasy changes to tune in a bike's riding position. It seemed long out of the box but not after installed...Recommend this (or hhorter versions) if you want Quality prductto change over to threadless style h/bars. It was worth the money....

Have a bike with threaded headset. Wanted to use Bull Moose bars so this gets the handlebars up where I want them and looks great. Only threaded bull moose bars I could find (Riv) had a very short stem. Too short for my particular bike. Found someone selling the bar in threadless version so this works perfectly.
