It has a clock so you can set to a specific time. You have to have a sound alarm too which I would prefer to be able to not have and just use the light but one sound is white noise which you can set at a low volume so it's fine. The light comes on over time but not over the time you set. It comes on gently over about a minute, as opposed to just suddenly being on which is good but it would be better if it increased over the time you set (ie over 15min or 30mins being at max brightness at the time set. Finally, its brightness is great but the only colour is a white light. It would be good if you could have a warm light. I bought 3 different sad lights looking for brightness, being able to set a specific time and having the choice of a warmer white. This has 2 of the 3 which was better than the other two.

The look and feel of the product is cheap and the screws on the back of the sensor are stubborn to remove and my unit cracked. In functional terms it is very good and easy to set and operate. The packaging is good but I wish the product matched up to advertising and quality of the packaging. The power lead is definitely too short. On the upside, the wall mount is easy to do and few SAD lights have this feature. The sound is tinny but I do not use the radio or alarm sound functions, just the light to slowly wake me up.

Very pleased with my purchase for the price! You are able to set the volume of the alarm and intensity as well as duration of the morning wake up light(sunrise), which is great. Also has a weather sensor which can be placed outside under cover to have the outside temp and a weather forecast shown on the display. Only slight drawbacks I'd say is that there's no battery backup in case of power failure during the night; it's tricky to set up initially, but do get the hang of it. The alarm sounds are limited to 4 and that, along with the radio, sounds a bit tinny, but not very bad and to be expected for the price. Speakers are probably a bit smaller than competitors. It doesn't bother me. Wish the power cord was longer, but I'm able to use an extension lead. I haven't used the sunset function.I wanted a Lumie, but since they're designed in Cambridge and made in China I opted out and decided to buy something manufactured in the UK instead. Does a lot more than the lower end Lumie does and the price is great.I've used as a standalone SAD light also. It is VERY bright! Does what it says on the tin.

Everything was fine and out of nowhere just broke down started to flicker and even when turned off.

Although when on the light is lovely , last night I could not get it to stop . The buttons are not intuitive . Sadly the sounds are too artificial. Overall I am disappointed some thoughts re design for ease of use is required to make this a better lamp .

I did a lot of research before buying as I’ve wanted 1 of these for ages. This is great. I only use it up to a level 4 as it’s really bright, but we’re getting up at 6am in autumn with so much ease. I think it’s such an essential when living in the UK when it’s so dark. For the price as well, I think it’s great. It does feel a little flimsy but it just sits on my desk so I don’t think that’s at all important. Thoroughly recommend
