Will this work for finding cat urine?

While the flashlight is exceptional for detecting dried dog urine and general pet stains, it may be less effective on some cat urine. It works best for finding dried, invisible stains on carpets and floors that regular cleaning missed.

Does this flashlight require disposable batteries?

No, the S3 is powered by an included rechargeable battery. You could get approximately 4 hours of continuous runtime on a single charge, making it suitable for long cleaning sessions or outdoor rock hunting without needing to buy extra batteries.

Can I use this for finding fluorescent rocks?

Yes, this is highly recommended for rock hunting. The 365nm wavelength is specifically effective for sodalite because it causes the orange fluorescence to pop vividly against the dark rock, which 395nm lights often struggle to achieve.

How is this different from the cheaper purple UV lights?

The S3 uses professional-grade 365nm LEDs with a black optical filter, whereas cheaper lights typically use 395nm LEDs. The S3 "outpowers" cheaper alternatives by revealing old, dried stains that the cheaper purple lights completely missed.

The beam looks dim compared to my other UV flashlight. Is it defective?

No, this indicates the light is working correctly as a true 365nm UV source. Unlike cheaper 395nm lights that emit a bright purple "visible" light, the S3 emits almost pure UV light that is invisible to the naked eye until it hits a reactive surface.
