Works well, For 4.5" x 8.5" sheets requires some adjustment of the guide. Love it!
I bought this to punch half sheets of regular letter size self printed bujo papers for use in my A5 size Carpe Diem 6 hole planner. While I wish the pull out guide had a line setting for that, the A5 guide notch isn't quite perfect for a half letter size paper (4.5 by 8.5 inches) However, to make it work I just messed with the guide placement a bit to get it where I could punch the paper one side at a time as instructed to find the right position where I needed it. For me the A5 notch line was very close, but I just had to pull the guide out a smidgelet more. I used a thin sharpie to mark my punch line on the guide and it worked brilliantly. I suggest punching scrap papers a few times to make sure to get it right, and because the first couple of punches left a little oil/lubricant residue on my papers. It was scrap paper though and after the first few punches I didn't have any more residue coming through onto my papers. The adjustment of the punches was simple and easy, it's a nice compact punch, and heavy. The flap that holds the back on the punch is sturdy and tight. Though I think it's absurd that all the colors except white were more expensive, I went for the white one because of the price being lower. I can't wait to make more of my own printables and use this punch to make my bujo exactly as I want it to look. If you like to make your own pages and just want to print out on regular paper and use half sheets, this works perfectly with a little fiddling to find the right guide placement. I'm extremely pleased with it.

Works great!
This punch feels very sturdy. It cuts clean and precise. I like that there are several settings for different sizes of paper, and that it’s easy to switch between them. It also has a lock feature so that it can be just a little more compact (and secure) for packing in a bag or pouch.I’ve only had it about a week, but I’d recommend it.

Ultimate Planner Addict Hole Punch!
I was surprised to see some less than glowing reviews on this, because I love it. I’ve unfortunately been through many hole punches before, as they never seemed to line up correctly or punch clean holes. This one, however, performs the best. You do need to take the extra three seconds to make sure the paper is lined up, but as long as you do that, the holes come out perfectly every time. I did notice that when I use heavier weight paper (32 lb) it’s best not to put the maximum ten pages in at once, but it definitely gets the job done. And as a plus, it’s cute enough to leave on top of my desk and hardly takes up any room.

Works great when you use it properly
When I first got this a month ago I adjusted the settings and tried to use it the way you would a non-compact version and thought I got the wrong size because the holes were way off for an A5. I tried it again today and realized that you have to pull out the plastic guide more than to personal. There is an A5 line and while I marked it, it does click into place nicely. Then you have to punch one end, flip it over and punch the other end. There were probably instructions on the listing that I didn't read?Other than the guide being flexible plastic, the punch is a nice heavy metal, very sturdy. Now that I know how to use it I am pleased with the product.

Best versatile paper hold puncher!!
I love this!! This paper hole puncher includes most planner sizes. I need this puncher for my A6 planner, Pocket, and, Personal rings planners. Quick tip! Punch small amounts of paper at a time. I usually punch 5 inserts of paper at a time. If I do more, the puncher does not punch throughly. So you’ll have to re-do it or it will mispunch.

Hole spacing is perfect for my planner
I have used DayTimer (TM) + At-a-Glance (TM) refills for my 6-ring binder. This is for the loose-leaf style, size Portable, page size is 3-3/4 x 6-3/4 inches. The punch adjustment to fit the hole spacing on these pages is easy, instructions are clear. To purchase the refills pre-printed is very expensive; I will make + print my own and use this hole punch. It will punch through 7 pages of heavy-bond paper. It might be strong enough to punch more, but the slot where the paper feeds to the punch area is too small. Normal office-weight paper will feed in fine. It seems sturdy enough for my purposes.

Not for a5, not even a little bit.
I live in a community that while large, does not have an office supply store that adequately stocks more niche items. I wouldn't normally consider something like a 6 ring planner a "niche item," but I've been wrong before.I ordered this, seeing thousands of positive reviews and was being lazy and did not read the individual reviews. If I had, I would not have purchased this item, which is not as advertised. This is technically useable for a5 paper, but not a one-punch and you're done. No, instead you have to line up the paper perfectly, flip it over while trying to not dislodge the flimsy plastic paper measuring ruler, which is accurately marked -- but not for a5 --, then punch again. When I'm doing something like punching holes for my planner, I don't want to take all of these extra steps. This is especially important when you are doing multiple pages at once, like most people would for an item like this.So while it's technically useable, it's useless for efficiency, which is the point of organizing. It's well-made, minus the flimsy plastic ruler and the mislabeled holes. I'm very disappointed. I've taken the time to order a new 6 ring hole punch, and read the reviews which are many people asking the very question I had: is it accurate? I wish I had read the individual, recent reviews. It might be great for smaller sized planners that might be measured accurately, but not for a5.Of course, if you don't read the reviews, you'll miss this one. Good luck!
