PORTAPACK H2 Control Board - Full Function SDR Radio Transmitter-Receiver Mainboard Havoc 0.5ppm TCXO 3.2 Inch LCD

I do not recommend using this one. the buttons and rotary do not line up with standard cutouts on the metal or even plastic cases (including 3d printed ones). that was the first problem. 2nd problem is that the rotary counts 'backwards' and is very jumpy. its not the same rotary encoder type that other makers are using and I tried flashing a few versions of mayhem software but the encoder was still going reverse direction and counted more jumps than it should (bouncy). returned this one and bought a complete unit (hackrf + portapack + case) from another vendor. sad, but it seems that if you want the portapack to FIT a case, you need to buy a whole unit (or you will waste time having to return things)

The Control Board came in great condition everything was perfectly working. Powering on showed it didn't come flashed with the actual Portapack software though, but is easy to do that oneself.I'm very satisfied.

From opening the product, it had the appearance of the Portpack H2+. However it did not have the writing on it as with the original. Upon getting everything set up, the item did function, but with issues. The knob sensitivity was all off. I would dial it and it would not fix into the settings or frequencies I wanted. The touch screen function was way off and could not get it calibrated. I would press on the bottom of the screen and the icon on the top of the screen would be activated. The speaker I purchased did not work despite the connectors matching. Also I could not get the standard case to fit right. This product was apparently a flawed clone.With the troubles I had with the Amazon product, I picked up another Portapack H2+ from Ebay for $30 less and it worked flawlessly. The knob sensitivity was perfect, the touch screen worked well, and the speaker that didn' t work with the Amazon clone worked perfectly on the Ebay unit. The case that did not fit the Amazon clone fit perfectly on this Ebay unit.I will be returning this unit as it costs over $100 and does not work as advertised. I purchased another unit for $70 from Ebay and that product works perfectly.

The encoder is the wrong type causing, it to not know which direction is being turned. Buttons dont line up with case. Battery is smaller than other sellers, and no speaker included.

So, after looking at everything after i've figured out that the pack does not work, i see why this item has 5 stars. i figured it out after seeing why people were giving it 5 stars, after seeing the exact same ratings from a nano vna that i purchased. if you really look at what is going on you will see that the seller is selling two different items on the page, a PORTAPACK H2 Control Board, and a nano vna. amazon, combined the two ratings. even though the main page is to sell the PORTAPACK H2 Control Board (very bad ratings), amazon is giving the appearance of what is being sold on the main page is better than what it actually is. this item has no where near 5 stars and should not let companies mislead customers. some one rated 5 stars, one person, not the advertised 38%. i have all the same issues as everyone else is having, jumpy knob, doesn't fit several different 3d printed packs, sd card slot does not work, screen works when it wants to.

This the second Portpack I have owned. The first one was from Aliexpress it works fine, I bought this one because it was on Amazon and it would;d arrive faster. I thought for sure it would be OK because it was on Amazon and I have bought many items thru Amazon.First it will not fit a normal case unless you modify the case. The rotary dial doesn't ;one up with case unless to modify the case. The four navigation buttons don't line up with the case either unless you modify the case.Second the rotary knob operates backwards. Normally you rotate the knob clockwise to progress thru the menu system. This uint you rotate counterclockwise and it is very unstable and skips making string a bit tricky.My advise look elsewhere for a Portpack.

Save your money guys! I had this for a week before putting it together with my Hack RF One and thank god i didn't wait any longer or else I would have been out over 100 bucks. Its crazy that amazon is letting this seller sell with all the problems with their portapack! Its not only me but every one that's bought one of these has the same problem! Plz report this seller because its wasting our time buying it just to send it back! Or just fix the problem or STOP selling it.
