Ordered these to hang string lights on the porch, and they’ve been a solid solution. The safety buckle design is what makes them stand out. Once the lights are in place, they stay put—even with wind or movement. That’s a big upgrade over basic hooks where cords can slip out over time. Installation is straightforward. They screw in cleanly and feel secure once seated. After putting up a full run of lights, everything stayed evenly spaced and didn’t sag or shift. After a few weeks outside, they’ve held up well with no bending or loosening. That’s usually where cheaper hooks start to fail, and these have done fine so far. Easy to install with the tool provided. From the street you can not tell that they are there. Easy to remove since I changed the type of lights on the house.

They do the job; however, they are made of a softer metal and can break easily if you apply too much pressure. My experience is to drill a pilot hole first. I purchased these with string lights, the light manufacture supplied an attachment for a drill to screw in the hooks, the attachment worked well, the hooks not so much. The pilot hole cannot be too small, even hand tightening can break the hook. I do not recommend using a drill to install. For my purposes the hooks did the job, the safety buckle is handy and the price is reasonable.

These were perfect for hanging patio string lights. They are strong and the clips are ideal for holding strength.

These worked perfectly for my govee hanging lights. Easy to install with a drill and twist in. They have a clip to keep things secure and look fantastic!

I have a long stretch of new wooden fence this year and wanted to string lights along the top edge. I was going to use regular cup hooks until I saw these with the locking mechanism and I am so glad I did. I drilled holes but did not use the anchors as the lights are lightweight, but it sure is nice to have them for other purposes. I used the drill bit driver for about half of the 60+ hooks I installed. In a few cases, it scratched the vinyl coating partially off and in one case the screw broke from the hook. But that was small price to pay for the convenience of quickly screwing them in. The lights are up and working now and I don't have to worry about wind or a big river of snow from the snowplow - I know they will stay in place. The dark color is all but invisible on my dark brown stained fence and I will just leave the hooks up all year and next season will be a snap.

The enclosed drill bit is handy, but NOT for these hooks. They break fairly easy leaving a stump in the wood. The hooks also make it difficult when trying to remove an object from them.
